  • Small family-run site in an acre and a half of green Yorkshire paddock
  • A 25-minute drive from Beverley and 30 from Hull
  • Trans Pennine Trail within a mile; Hornsea within five minutes' drive
Village life, cross country walking routes and seaside adventures… If this sounds like a splendid getaway, then Corner House Caravan and Camp Site, a small family-run park just outside the East Yorkshire village of Great Hatfield, should be just perfect for you. This is a top spot for walkers, cyclists and horseback riders, as the Trans Pennine Trail passes through the village on its mighty coast to coast route across the north of England – join it here or pick it up at the Trans Pennine Trail Gateway in Hornsea half an hour away by bike. Or stick around Hornsea for somewhat less ambitious strolls along the coastal paths… or just to investigate the sandy beaches and the promenade. Rest your weary legs back on site or for a change of scenery head to Beverley (25 minutes' drive) to stock up on foodie supplies and essentials, try some restaurants or visit the market. There are lots of places to eat within a short drive of the site and delivery services that will deliver to the site too.

Local attractions

When you’re exploring the area around Corner House, you should start with Hornsea, a five-minute drive or 30-minute bike ride from the site. There’s more to this seaside town than its beaches: once you're finished strolling on the sand, visit the museum or ramble around the Memorial Gardens. Shopping sorts might want to leave the bikes at home and set their sights on Hornsea Freeport, credit card in hand, to while away a day at the outlets. If the kids are tiring of following you around the shops, take a break with a trip to the hands-on insect experience at Bugtopia or to the adventure playground at Beach Cove. Feeling lucky? Have a flutter on the ponies at Beverley Racecourse, a 25-minute drive from Corner House, then hedge your bets with a visit to Beverley Minster, the largest parish church in the UK. The site is well placed for city days too, with Hull half an hour’s drive away. Explore the streets of Hull’s Old Town, visit the museums and galleries, and say hi to the fish at The Deep aquarium.
