The perfect site with clean facilities. Claire was amazing.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Claire was a fantastic host and her wood fired homemade pizza was amazing. The pitches were huge & spacious. The site is a working smallholding farm.
Disliked There’s nothing to dislike.
From the manager: I am so glad you had a good time at the campsite and enjoyed the pizzas. It was lovely to meet you. I look forward to seeing you again

Quiet, large pitches.…
Powered grass campsite
Liked Quiet, large pitches.
Disliked Stayed on the Monday and Tuesday night. Local pub doesn't do food on those days. Cafe onsite not open during all our stay.
Showers and toilets weren't as clean as others I've stayed in. But not the worst shall we say. Thought about buying some free range eggs but then thought twice at £5 a dozen. WiFi was awful as well as EE reception.
From the manager: Hi,
I am so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay on my campsite.
You are correct the local pub and the cafe are not open on Monday adn Tuesday. This is because we are based in a very quiet rural, non-touristy area and very few of the local food businesses open on these days as it is not economically viable. On the up-side people generally appreciate the unspoilt, untouristy, beautiful location of the campsite.
We do sell free-range eggs for £2.50 for half a dozen. For organically-produced, welfare-focused, very free range eggs this is a competitive price. Of course you can find cheaper eggs in the supermarket but these are usually from caged birds who live a miserable life. The price just about covers feed costs.
Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about cell-phone coverage as we live in a rural area and the major phone companies do not offer very good coverage - you could take it up with EE as I am sure they would like the feedback.
The wifi is also not very good here, because I am so rural. I paid for a wifi installation around the campsite and pay monthly for a dedicated phone line and internet connection, but it is not brilliant and the company who installed it are not very helpful in improving the situation. This is precisely why the wifi is free. I advise people who are visiting to have their own wifi solution either on their phone, via a dongle or an in-caravan/campervan system if wifi connection is a high priority. I hope to improve the wifi system in the next year.
I am so sorry you found the facilities were not as clean as you expected. They are regularly cleaned and nearly everyone comments on how clean they are. Unfortunately, not everyone leaves them in a tidy manner and sometimes in between cleaning people find the mess of others - I can only apologise.

A great site, will definitely visit again
Primitive grass campsite
Liked The site was flat and the toilet/shower facilities were clean. Although we didn’t have children with us there is room for them to play, with a great playground and animals on the small holding for them to feed with the owner.
The site was in a great location with a pub within walking distance and several within a short drive.
I’m a history nerd, and there are lots of places to visit in the area including Sutton Hoo, a 10 minute drive away.
WiFi was ok once we logged onto site service.
Disliked It was a shame that the Blue Rabbit cafe on the site wasn’t open.
The new shower block sometimes didn’t have hot water, but the old one always had hot water. This only happened once whilst we stayed. It was at the weekend when there was a lot of campers.
From the manager: Hi,
Thank yo for your lovely review. There is so much history near here including, Sutton Hoo, the fabulous castles of Orford and Framlingham, the tide mill and longshop musuems in Woodbridge as well as the military history of the fabulously eerie Orford Ness.
Sorry about the water. We are so rural that we only have two-phase electric (this limits how much electrical supply we can use at any one time) although the emersions are continually heating out hot water tanks if it is very busy and a lot of water is used it can take a while to heat back up again. Unfortunately we just can't have a heat on demand system as it would blow the electrical supply.
The cafe will be open again next year (unfortunately I have recently had a lot of medical issues and this is limiting what I can do) and from July 2025 onwards I will be cooking wood-fired pizzas on Friday nights at the cafe.
Hope to see you again soon

Excellent site with good facilities and a friendly atmosphere

Liked This is a lovely campsite. Such a friendly atmosphere and everything provided for a comfortable stay.
Lots of walks and the added advantage of a beautiful pub within walking distance.
From the manager: Hello, Thank you for such a lovely review. I am so pleased you had a good time staying here - the pub is really good and very convenient that ti is so close - it is 'community owned' which makes it even more special. Looking forward to seeing you again soon

Liked The site was so friendly and welcoming. The kids loved the 530 animal feeding and they cannot wait to come back next year. The owners have created a really special space

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Relaxed small holding with friendly chickens roaming. Host was pleasant, easy check in, clean, quiet in the week. Very rural in the middle of nowhere.
A nice 7mile round trip walk to the estuary through farmland byways. We have a campervan so we drove to beaches and woodlands. Good location.
Disliked Gets busy at the weekends. Poor Mobile phone signal.
From the manager: Thank you for your review. I am happy you had a good time and enjoyed the beautiful countryside round the campsite.
Hope to see you again soon

Lovely peaceful campsite
Powered grass campsite
Liked Lovely site, spacious and quiet. Pre stay information was comprehensive and made getting set up easy and the owner was very helpful. On site facilities were good and the whole site seemed cared for and well-maintained and the local playground was great for the kids.
Disliked No phone signal and wi-fi wasn't working when we stayed. Not a problem for us but others may want to be aware
From the manager: I am so pleased you had a good time at the campsite. We do have rubbish phone coverage - sorry. The wifi is currently a bit hit and miss because of some technological problem (I don't really understand it). I am struggling to get the people who installed it to help - but I will find someone who can and hopefully it will be working reliably very soon.
Hope to see you again soon

Lovely site, will likely stay again.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Always hate giving such positive reviews as it often means these hidden gems become popular and the price goes up. Honestly can't fault it, lovely site.
We stayed in a tent in the back corner and it was perfect, not sure if it was a double pitch or should have been others but we had lots of space. Felt it gave us our privacy and with a 5 year old who doesn't realise tents aren't soundproof it meant that we didn't need to worry about that. Really made a difference and made it very enjoyable so don't shrink the plots.
At night we were able to watch the bats, and there was zero light pollution and absolutely no noise apart from the wind in the trees. Other sites we've stayed at you can sometimes hear the road or farm equipment, didn't here.
The facilities were clean and well stocked with paper, etc, and the drinking water tap was easily located.
Everyone was polite and friendly.
We didn't get to use the full facilities or explore the farm area as only there one night but the village play area being just next door was lovely when my son woke up at 6:00. Also well maintained.
Location being only 10 minutes from Sutton hoo and 15 from Woodbridge was ideal. A couple of narrow roads as you approach just to be aware of.
Disliked Not necessarily a dislike as I enjoyed being able to cut off but one for people to be aware of if needing it, there is no phone signal for Three and the WiFi obviously doesn't extend to the edges of the site. Its rural Suffolk so to be expected and as I said, not an issue for us but could be for those who need contact.
From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. I am so pleased you had a lovely time and the pitch was just right for you. I have no intention of shrinking the plots, it's good to feel that you have space when camping. We are so lucky that the village play area is right next to the campsite - maybe next time you will be here when 'animal feeding' happens (every saturday 5.30 and normally Wednesday 5.30 in school holidays) and you will get to come along and feed the chickens, alpacas pigs and goats!
Phone signal is very patchy here - it's great being rural for bats and no light pollution, but not so good for connectivity.
Hope to see you again soon
take care
