  • Touring pitches on a private 16-acre site with lake views
  • A 20-minute drive from the market town of King's Lynn
  • Five well-stocked on-site lakes for fishing
Fishing in East Anglia should sound pretty excellent to serious angling types. There are plenty of opportunities for various angling antics at Narborough Fisheries, which has touring pitches on a private 16-acre site with a handful of fishing lakes flowing with chalk stream water from the river Nar. Narborough Fisheries has five lakes available to guests: mixed coarse lake Foresters; match and coarse lake Ashford; carp coarse lake Meadow; specimen carp lake Millers (37-pounders were landed here in 2024); and the well-stocked trout lake Willow. Just remember to bring your Environment Agency rod licence before you get started. The pitches are all set along two of the lakes, with gorgeous lakeside views. There is a shower and toilet block with accessible facilities, as well as a small, well-stocked tackle shop selling a selection of hot and cold drinks, confectionery and other snacks should you need some extra energy to power you through an afternoon of fishing. Away from the rod, you might want to take a day trip to the market town of King's Lynn (20 minutes' drive away) to nose around some shops. There is also a bus from Narborough village that takes a little over an hour to reach Norwich for a day among its Lanes and historic market.

What customers say

A well-kept, serene spot lauded for friendly staff & great fishing. Clean facilities, though some found them compact or dated. Most enjoyed the quiet, but a few noted external noise and geese. Fishing peg fixes were in progress.

Lakeside powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked That there is nothing to dislike as far as the site is concerned.. Staff work very hard to maintain everything and are sooo helpful..
Must be honest and say there is noise from a local business, but that is not the sites fault..

Rally Field powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked The owner was very pleasant and the site looked peaceful when we arrived.

Disliked We very quickly discovered that travellers were turning up one by one and by the second night they were being very noisy, booming music and using Rally Field (well named) as a race track and they were still rolling up at 2.30am shouting and playing boom box music and we didn’t sleep all night. We left the next day because we felt intimated. We have tried to ring the mobile number we were given on site but no answer. Definitely wouldn’t go back. It’s a shame because it did look a peaceful site!

Lakeside powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked The onsite shop was handy and had a good selection of bits for the fisherman

Disliked The toilet block could do with modernising and was a fare walk from the touring pitches ,only one shower for the men with no shelf in the shower to put you shower gel and neither outside the cubical, also a seat would be handy as not all clothes can be hung on the pegs.the site was covered in goose mess which in turn caused there to be a lot of flies far more than i would expect i understand its a fishery but the amount of geese were far to many and also makes a mess in the awning on the ground sheet.

Lakeside powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Karen has been so helpful she made our break so easy to book and on arrival made us feel very welcome
The two pitches our group had booked where very well looked after.
The shower block was quite small but like everything on the site was very clean and well maintained.
The fishing I thought was going to be easy but it was a challenge to catch the blighters that made a pleasant change from other stocked lakes I've fish where they basically hook themselves.
The other big positive about the fishing is the choice of fishing you have from the fly fishing lake all the way through to specimen carp lake what ever you're chosen type of fish you will not be disappointed.
The site is very quiet which suited us for the relaxation point it was perfect.
If you are after pools bars and amusements this would not be a good choice but for fishing and a very relaxed atmosphere this site tick all the boxes.

Disliked The only dislike we had was with the shop
It would of been nice to have a shop on site which sold the basic things like milk tea coffee just general things that you might need
Apart from that no other dislikes at all

Local attractions

Fishing, fishing, nature reserves, the north Norfolk coastline and watery sports: what a lot of activities there are to catch in this part of East Anglia. Look at as many as possible of the Norwich 12 (55 minutes' drive), the city's historic buildings, as can possibly be fitted in on a day trip. (If you only have time for a couple, the obvious two are Norman Norwich Castle, which includes the Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery, and Norwich Cathedral with its rather splendid large cloisters.) Going west, pick the cathedral city of Peterborough (an hour and five minutes) for another day trip: alongside its 12th-century cathedral, another good idea is to potter among the quarter of a million or so exhibits of the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery. There are watersports on the lakes at Nene Park (an hour and 10 minutes). Perhaps a puff on the Nene Valley Railway between Peterborough Nene Valley and Yarwell Junction too? Or a night out at the Key Theatre, where shows of all sorts run all year. There is plenty of wildlife and sumptuous scenery in the area, so next up might be a trip to the nearest nature reserve, the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's chalk grassland of the Ringstead Downs (35 minutes) or a wildlife-spotting float around the Norfolk Broads, easily accessible from Norwich.
