Welcome to two jays farm
Bring your canoe; the norfolk broads are a 10-minute walk away or a short drive

  • Family-friendly farm, 20 minutes from Norwich and half hour from coast
  • Well-placed for watersports and boat trips on the Norfolk Broads
  • Dogs welcome; plenty of walking and cycling paths directly from site
Can’t decide between a bit of farm life, bright city lights and refreshing coastal explores? Ditch the dithering and pack the whole lot in to one stay at Two Jays Farm: this small, family-friendly farm is in Horstead, a 20-minute drive from Norwich and half an hour from Norfolk’s beaches. You’ll be in good company here – in the adjacent fields your neighbours will be the farm's resident horses, goats and chickens, and you're welcome to bring along a four-legged pal of your own if you've got a dog that fancies the trip. Canine companion or no, this is a fine spot for getting out for a walk. Set off on foot or cycle along woodland paths and riverbanks to take in sights like the Bure Valley Railway, Horstead Mill on the River Bure (where you can jump into the water for a wild swim if it's getting a tad warm) and pretty market towns along the way. If you fancy getting out on the water instead you can hire paddleboards and kayaks on site. Your reward at the end of a lengthy walk – perhaps a good feed at one of the nearby foodie pubs? The nearest is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the site, and there are a few more to choose from – along with some takeaways and a supermarket – in nearby Coltishall village, which is a 20-minute walk away (or a few minutes’ drive).

What customers say

This campsite boasts a chill vibe with welcoming owners and ample room. Guests rave about the spotless facilities, including warm showers, and the plentiful farm animals, a kid favourite. Kayaking the nearby river and the honesty shop are big draws. Minor road noise and a wish for more amenities during busy periods were noted, but most enjoyed a clean, convenient, and fun stay.

Poppy primitive grass RV campsite

Liked The campsite is just brilliant, animals are super friendly, the facilities are clean and just enough for the campsite. The owner is fantastic, loved the little shop they have and the paddleboard hiring facilities are brilliant too.

The campsite well situated, walking distance from the river, pub and Amazon locker 🤣

Will definitely stay again, it's super chilled and just what you need during a busy summer with the kids

Disliked Might need covered washing up facilities when the weather is pants, luckily it was super hot when we visited

Poppy primitive grass RV campsite

Liked Had a lovely and relaxing 3 night stay here. Owner very friendly and helpful. Lovely to see the animals and there is a games room. Only 10 min walk to pub which serves excellent food, very pricey but huge portions. Bus stop outside pub to Norwich. Hot Showers and toilets clean. Bring a torch when you go to the loo, no lights!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked We stayed for 3 nights and it was a lovely site. Clean toilet and bathroom, with hot water at washing up point. The highlight is the animal farm there, kids are very happy with that.

Disliked A bit close to the road with some noise at night.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The owners were very kind and friendly and gave me a complimentary bag of wood after I accidentally ordered two fire pits on pitch up!! They also gave us an extra kayak to use!! Loved the horses and alpacas on the site!! We also brought fresh eggs from the shop which were delicious. We found a pitch away from the main campers which was perfect for us as it was really quiet at night and we had loads of restorative sleep!!

Disliked The ground had lots of stingers and thistles!! Could have been more toilets and showers for the amount of people but queue wasn't long as wasn't too busy!!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Very happy with our 2 night stay at Two Jays, the owners were very accommodating and friendly.

Lots of space to pitch your tent and for children to run around. Nice to have animals on the site (in their separate pens) for children to see.

We had a lovely time toasting marshmallows over the firepit and kayaking on the river.

Local pubs were also nearby for food and drink.

Disliked The campsite was next to a main road which could be quite noisy during the night, but no noisier than some of the snoring from nearby tents!

We were happy with the toilet and shower facilities (2x toilet cubicles + 2x shower and toilet cubicles) but some people may not be. Had to queue at busy periods as you would expect.

Local attractions

Being right on the Norfolk Broads, Two Jays is well-placed for a range of water activities – you can go fishing, sailing, or rent kayaks and canoes for adventures on the water… or leave the navigating up to someone else and opt for a boat trip instead. For activities on dry land, visit BeWILDerwood (10-minute drive), a forest park full of trails, treehouses, bridges, zipwires and slides. There’s more action at leisure and shopping complex Wroxham Barns (10 minutes), where there’s a kids' farm and funfair alongside boutiques, craft studios and eateries. If you’re heading to the coast, combine beach days with some animal spotting; there’s a zoo in Cromer (half an hour) and a SEA LIFE Centre at Great Yarmouth (40 minutes). There’s a bunch of parks nearby if you’re looking for big open spaces for pleasant ambles, picnics, and kids’ play areas. Try Waterloo Park (15 minutes), Catton Park (15 minutes), Earlham Park (half an hour) or Eaton Park (half an hour). For a bit of culture, visit the impressive Blickling Estate (15 minutes) and Felbrigg Hall, Gardens and Estate (25 minutes). Or combine a trip to Norwich (20 minutes) with a look at the cathedral and Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery.
