  • Part of an award-winning attraction five minutes' drive from Wroxham
  • Close to the Norfolk Broads and 20 minutes' drive to nearest beach
  • Discounted tickets to the adventure farm; two cafés on site
If ‘happy kids = happy holiday’ is your motto when looking for a place to stay, you’ll likely be quite taken with the setup at Wroxham Barns. Stays here are in an excellent spot for lots of Norfolk days out (including beaches, the Broads and various attractions), but the real highlight is surely having one of those attractions right on site… The campsite here is part of the award-winning Wroxham Barns attraction, full of independent craft/artisan shops and places to eat. That means it’ll be as easy as could be to pick up local food and drinks from the two cafés on site. Guests here also get discounted tickets to the Adventure Farm, so you can pop in any time to meet the alpacas, pigs and ponies, race around on the go-karts or spend time at one of many play areas. There are extra activities laid on during the summer holidays too, so there’s little danger of youngsters running out of things to do (meaning parents can have a little bit of quiet time into the bargain…). A camping host oversees everything during the summer holidays, so you're in good hands. Facilities here have been designed to make sure everyone is catered for, so bathrooms have parent-friendly washrooms and accessible facilities, and there's a wifi connection for easy communications. Dogs are welcome too, and there should be plenty of places nearby to take them out for a good rural walk. Speaking of walks, you can get to Wroxham in about half an hour on foot (along a footpath) or drive it in five minutes to get to more places to eat and shop, plus boat hire places.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked Lovely campsite with lots of independent shops, a cafe and farm on site! Went as a couple (2 adults) so didn't go to the farm or use the kids bits but all looked great, funny to wake up to the sounds of the animals in the morning 😁 The big "barn" had lots of toilets, all separate with sinks inside, lots of showers, all with sinks and seats inside, lots of washing up stations, 2 kettles, 2 microwaves, a communal fridge/freezer and 2 toasters. The pitches were well marked out and had cute solar lights next to each one. Very nice environment and we would go back. There was WiFi on the site as well.

Disliked Not knocking marks as it was out of their control. There was a power cut the first night so we couldn't plug in our fridge ect and the water wasn't working for the toilets or showers. As a gesture of good will we recieved £7.50 each to spend in the café for breakfast. The power was back on the next morning so all good in the end.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked Lovely site, clean facilities and great for the kids with lots to do with the play park and the farm. Lovely little shops. Would definitely stay here again. Staff were really friendly and accommodating.

Disliked When we received the email it stated that we could get free entry to Wroxham barns because we were staying there. But when we got there we were told that only when booking the yurts could you access free entry to the park and tent campers were 50% discount.

Local attractions

A fair chunk of your time may well be spent on site, poking in the shops or hanging out with the animals, but there's plenty more to explore around this area. For starters, you might like to work up an appetite for a cake in the café by following one of the nearby walks or cycle paths, several of which are suitable for families. Other ways to see the scenery? How about paddleboarding or kayaking from either Coltishall or Horstead (both 10 minutes’ drive) or hiring a boat from Wroxham (five minutes) to get out into the Broads National Park? If you’d rather take it very way, board a narrow-gauge train for a ride on the Bure Valley Railway (five minutes). Elsewhere, you may like to seek out the adventures that await at BeWILDerwood Norfolk (five minutes), spend some time on the sand in Sea Palling (20 minutes) or go crabbing from the pier in Cromer (half an hour).
