  • Near Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads
  • Two parks in one: family-oriented and more quiet sections
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, gym, crazy golf, bar and restaurant
If you can’t decide whether to opt for an idle break or something a bit more lively, then have the best of both at Breydon Water Holiday Park, near Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads. It’s essentially two parks in one: the first is Yare Village, for those looking for an active, family-oriented vibe, with its toasty outdoor pool (open from May to September, weather permitting), crazy golf, and a buzzing schedule of sports, kids’ activities and evening entertainment. Just 10 minutes’ walk away is the more sedate Bure Village, where there’s an indoor pool and a fully-equipped gym. The site also has wifi in the Waterside bar and restaurant.

What customers say

A great family campsite near Burgh Castle with pools, arcades & entertainment. Staff are friendly. Pitches are spacious. Some guests found facilities dated, showers could be cleaner, with push-button issues. Occasional noise noted.

Liked Location

Disliked Pitches were uneven, dry & dusty with very little grass remaining.

Was not worth the extra cost we felt we paid for access to the pool as it was so popular you only got a short time there.

Staff fabricated toilet checks. At 5am this morning the ladies hadn’t been checked since 3pm yesterday & toilet paper was running out/empty in most cubicles. By 7am a fake entry for after 1am had been added saying they had been checked & filled up. Not good enough with that many people on site.

10am check out is also early compared to a lot of other sites. Tent was still wet from dew when we had to take it down.

Liked This site was perfect in every way, lovely clean site with good amenities.
Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly
The bar/waiting staff in the Boathouse restaurant were amazing and so so helpful, nothing was too much for them especially Karen & Kelly. The chef Sonia was exceptional, she went above and beyond to cater for my dairy free granddaughter, wonderful food, thank you to you all

Disliked The disrespect of some campers on leaving the toilets so dirty

Liked The facilities looked really good but didn't have time to use any due to issues explained below.

Disliked site was not for us. Turned up and the police were there. Someone had been assaulted. Pitch was crammed in with two other families. Disabled toilet had womens clothes in and wasn't very clean. It appeared anyone was using them and not just to go to the toilet. Lots of noise, music after 11pm, electric motorbike racing around and horrendous swearing to children about the age of 10. It's a real shame as we have been to a park dean before and thought it was fine but we won't be coming back to this one.

Liked The toilet block was right in the middle of the pitch so no matter where your tent was it was close.

Disliked The activities were extortionate and so not worth the money. We paid £28 for the pool party for 30mins of loud music in a pool. That’s it! It was ridiculous.

The whole place needs to be revamped and is very tired looking.

The arcade section is tiny.

The evening entertainment is terrible.

Drinks and food are really expensive.

The staff look like they want to hang themselves, especially at the pools.

The showers in the toilet block are a nuisance, you have to keep your hand on the button all the time which is really inconvenient when trying to wash kids.

Liked Outdoor swimming pool, arcade, big pitches. The lady in the arcade was very friendly.

Disliked Showers (don’t stay on and too close to the wall!), not enough staff, not strict on noise after a certain time!! There were some very noisy groups that kept the noise going into the early hours! Facilities were not the cleanest at times and very run down!

Not charged rundown prices so we didn't expect everything to be tied.

Liked I liked the location, especially its closeness to the Roman fort.
Outdoor swimming pool.
Staff were pleasant.

Disliked Hated the surface around the outdoor swimming pool; it was like walking on nails. Tiles missing from around the sides of the outdoor pool.
Indoor pool missing tiles on the floor of the pool when you enter.
No wear to sit and undress/dress in the showers. Constantly needing to hold the button when taking a shower both in the ladies and gents. Toilet block (Ladies) leaking toilets, frequently no soap or toilet roll. Toilet block (Gents) one cold tap constantly running. One hand drier out of order for the whole period. One soap dispenser not working. Problems with wasps around the pitches. Bins always seemed to be full, so birds were constantly fetching things out of them. Noise at night was a constant problem. Not great value for the money; which is a shame when the site could have been, so good.

Local attractions

Great Yarmouth, a short drive away, has masses of attractions – too many to list here, but to give you an idea: the Sea Life aquarium, the exhilarating indoor circuit at Karting 2000, mini choo-choos and tiny townsfolk at Merrivale Model Village and Gardens, and the Elizabethan House Museum, where visitors can don Tudor fashions and find out what life was really like below stairs for Victorian scullery maids. There are more than 50 acres of adrenaline rides, plus parrot and sea lion shows and an Alpine chair lift at Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft. For those seeking more genteel pursuits, also near Lowestoft is Somerleyton Hall, a Tudor-Jacobean pile with pleasure gardens and a maze, home to the Crossley Carpets dynasty. Drive a little further and you can explore the wetlands and waterways of the Norfolk Broads, or head south to gorgeous Southwold and Aldeburgh in Suffolk.
