What customers say
This is a clean, peaceful, and scenic campsite with spacious spots, appreciated by guests for its friendly vibe and handy location. Facilities are usually clean and functional, though some find them a bit dated. The lakes and wildlife are a highlight, with many enjoying the fishing. Some guests noted issues with permanent residents or the upkeep of certain areas.

Powered grass and gravel campsite
Liked Nice Area and roughly a 40 minutes walk into tge beautiful Town of st ives. Literally turn right out main gate and keep walking until you get to a roundabout. Go straight over and take next right, this road takes you by tge Dolphin hotel where if by motor you can oark for £2 then a walk over the bridge into town
Disliked Can't say I disliked anything, as other post suggests looks bit lije a traveller site but it's fine, shower and wc areas could do with a bit of TLC and there are no Dog litter bins
But overall enjoy.

Nothing…
Powered grass and gravel campsite
Liked Nothing
Disliked Unsafe and badly managed. Strong smell of drugs, loud music late at night, dog mess everywhere and no clear pitches. As a young woman alone with a child I felt unwelcome and unsafe – even overheard being called a “silly cow.” Owner laughed at my concerns. I left early and lost money. Avoid this site.

From the manager: Hi Rebecca, we’re sorry to hear your unpleasant experience at Crystal lakes . Although concerning the smell of drugs we cannot control the publics behaviour and this happened to be one of our busiest weekends of the whole year , regarding the loud music and dog mess - we do have a curfew at 10:30pm and unfortunately some campers choose to not respect vital site rules- and for the dog mess , we happen to live in a densely populated avian area which results in goose droppings and we very certainly assure you it is not dog mess due to our site being maintained consistently .Once again we cannot control the public behaviour on a very busy bank holiday - thank you .

Promised much from online photos...delivered nothing of note.
Powered grass and gravel campsite
Liked Not much to like apart from walking proximity to Fenstanton & St Ives.
Disliked Where to begin.
Welcome fairly non existant. Signage to reception poor, met by a guy with a sheet of paper who offered nothing by way of site information. Shown to pitch then he walked off.
Site has a large number of semi permanent/permanent/migrant worker guests who seem to neither know nor care about general site rules. Saw several open fires in fire pits although it is against site rules. Pitch next to ours had a guy chopping fire wood with a block and axe at from late evening right up until final chop at 22:40 to put on their open fire. 22:00 quiet rule not observed nor policed by site managers.
Toilet outdated and not what l would call hygenic.....toilet brush loaded excriment in cubicle l entered....and promptly left!
Left after only one night of our two night booking. Wouldnt recommend this site sadly.

Peaceful and walking distance to shops…
Primitive grass tent campsite (two person)
Liked Peaceful and walking distance to shops and pubs.
Disliked Bathrooms weren’t clean and were blocked and out of service most of the time we were there. Temporary toilets need to be provided in the second field as it’s a long walk at night.

From the manager: We apologise for your negative experience, unfortunately the public often abuse our facilities leading to them being out of service every so often, although we can assure you this dealt with immediately and we try our very best to keep our toilets clean and functional - additionally this was a bank holiday weekend and we happen to have a couple of campers every now and then come onto our peaceful site and act unaccordingly - thank you
Fairly peaceful site would come again but the toilets need some work.
Powered grass campsite
Liked Location and area.
Disliked Very tight pitches. You were crammed in when new guests arrived. Our pitch was OK but some new arrivals after us just seemed to be put where they had some spare grass.
