Perhaps you’re hoping to sip the local spring water, follow the Elgar Trail or take walks in the scenic surroundings – whatever it is that brings you to this gorgeous part of the world, you’ll be well placed when you stay at Malvern Hills Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite. This touring site sits in a fabulous spot just outside the Worcestershire village of Hanley Swan, on the edge of the National Landscape, putting guests within easy reach of all the things mentioned above. Another real bonus is the proximity of the Three Counties Showground about five minutes’ drive away, making this a handy site for those attending events being held there. The site is managed by the Caravan and Motorhome Club, and it’s open to members and non-members alike, with discounted rates for members. The price displayed here is the member rate; non-members will need to add the £15 per night extra or add membership (which lasts for a full year). Well-maintained facilities are par for the course with Club sites, and this location is no exception – guests have access to a motorhome service point, a washing-up area, wifi and bathrooms with family rooms and wheelchair-accessible facilities. There’s also a play area to cater for the needs of younger guests, and a dog park for exercising four-legged friends. With nicely roomy pitches all around, you should have plenty of space for a barbecue while you’re here; pick up all the supplies you need at the shops in Great Malvern, 10 minutes’ drive away. Alternatively, perhaps you’d prefer to head out for a meal at the local pub, a mile away in the village.

Local attractions

This is a wonderful area for walkers, with the Malvern Hills National Landscape so close by – top trails around Worcestershire Beacon (15 minutes’ drive) and British Camp Hill Fort (20 minutes) are easy to get to, or you might elect to take a stroll around Eastnor Castle (20 minutes) or explore the black and white buildings of Ledbury (25 minutes). It’s also an excellent part of the world for culture lovers, who might like to seek out the music festivals in Upton on Severn (10 minutes), follow the Elgar Trail to learn more about the much-loved composer, or head into Worcester (20 minutes) to visit the cathedral and see the porcelain collections of the Museum of Royal Worcester. If you don’t mind travelling a little further, you could also add in trips to places like Hereford (50 minutes), Stratford-upon-Avon (an hour) or Birmingham (an hour). It’s also not far to the northern part of the Cotswolds National Landscape – a drive of half an hour or so will get you to that area.
