What customers say
A beautiful, peaceful valley with spacious sites, great for "wild camping." Friendly owners, quiet vibe, and handy porta-potties/water taps. Campfires okay. Some found the ground uneven and missed showers, but facilities were clean. Tricky access when wet.

Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Liked the site, nice and peaceful, just toilets and water but that's fine, nice stay
Disliked Wanted to walk up the lane into cookley but couldn't get through the barbwire, also been fenced off, so instead of a 500yard walk it was a 2 mile walk

From the manager: Hi
Sorry you were not told where the entrance to the woods are .
A 5 bar metal gate half way up the valley in the middle of the site leads into the woods it’s then a short walk to Lea lane
There is a reason we fence the site off
To keep it private and secure for guests
More signs will be made and a informative cabin

Beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable. We will be back!
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Despite arriving late in the evening and pitching up in completely different field, it was a cosy and beautiful area. Owners were very friendly and informative. Plenty of wood to forage for campfire and portaloos were the cleanest ive ever encountered. Well done! Also campsite was pristine. No litter and road in very well maintained. Lying back between the trees, the stars looked amazing and even caught glimpse of several satellites crossing the night sky.
Disliked Unfortunately, the castle gate has fallen into a state of disrepair. Although it may not be the owners responsibility for its upkeep. It would of made a grand entrance to the the area.
We would also like to provide a little feedback which hasnt altered our enjoyment and love for the campsite. We would suggest a small, waist height screen to be attached to the shower support. It may be of benefit for those who like to strip completely for a deep clean.
Finally, the signage directing campers to the site was visible and clear. However go faster than walking pace; or indeed after dusk and it can be difficult seeing the signs. Perhaps a slightly larger sign might be of benefit.
