  • Worcestershire meadow campsite on the edge of the Cotswolds
  • A 10-minute drive to Broadway, and 20 minutes to Cotswold Farm Park
  • Woodland den, walks straight from site; 10 minutes’ stroll to the pub
Fancy a walking holiday or perhaps some time spent exploring spectacular Worcestershire castles? Need to keep the kids entertained? Cotswold Nights Away is a great spot for all this – plus the spirit of adventure that comes with a wild-camping-style break on the edge of the Cotswolds near Evesham. There’s plenty of room on the field itself for impromptu games of football, and adjoining the pitches is a small woodland available for dog walking and family games of hide and seek. A den sits among the trees, kitted out with a sofa and boardgames to keep everybody entertained. The local village of Ashton under Hill (10 minutes’ walk) has a pub and food delivery service, and the mellow-stone Cotswolds village of Broadway (10 minutes’ drive) is packed with indie shops and delis for barbecue supplies. If you fancy eating out, there’s a destination restaurant there as well as plenty of traditional pubs to choose between. Basic facilities on the open camping field include a well-maintained shower and toilet block with a washing-up station, plus ice-pack freezing and a communal fridge. Firepits are available for use, (no charge) and thoughtful onsite extras include flowerpots full of herbs for guests to use on their barbecues.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked This is a gem of a site that we booked on the same day to break the journey home. What a find! It was such a shame we could only stay the one night.

What makes this quiet, spacious site stand out from every other campsite we've stayed on is that it's a children's paradise. Our 13-year-old twins absolutely loved it, and it was so lovely to see them just be kids again, riding around on the many bikes on site, playing the games in the den, playing football. Everything was provided and well thought out, and we loved the table tennis in the den.

As if those things weren't enough, there were miles of public footpaths around, and within 10 minutes, there was a park, so the kids were able to go off site and find that too.

There is a bit of road noise, but it didn't bother us.

We loved it so much that we immediately booked to go back again.

Disliked We couldn't find anywhere to put the black-bag rubbish.
The toilets needed a towel, as there was nothing to dry our hands on.
There was only one shower.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Great pitch. Small enough for not many people but big enough to have privacy. Lovely amount of kids toys and places to play. Fire pits were fab to use and there was a nice walk to a great park just 10 mins away. Fabulous campsite.

Disliked Could have done with more than one shower but everything else was great

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Lovely chilled owners, bikes and toys on site for the kids.
5 min walk to local pub where the food is incredible and to a lovely park.
The location of this place is great for exploring local attractions.

Disliked Not owners fault but on the last day there was a group who were really noisy until late.

In addition to this, the smell fron what we assumed were the bins can be offputting.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked This site is great for kids, toys and dens for them to play in and even small bikes for them to ride around.
Big fridge and a large freezer.
Flat site.

Disliked Ideally it could do with another loo and shower.
There is a certain amount of road noise but that is better than music etc from other campers ( ! ) of which there was little and none after 10.00PM.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Great site. Nice and clean with plenty of space. My daughter loved sitting by the provided fire pit (of which there were plenty to grab) and we had a great evening toasting marshmallows. The games tent has plenty in to keep her entertained.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked Lovely place, what made it extra special was The Den giving a sheltered play area when shade is required or it’s raining. Never been to a campsite before that offers a sofa to sit on!
Centralised play area with goal posts and badminton/tennis net led to all the kids playing together brilliantly. What camping should be :-) Our kids LOVED the use of the bikes and mini cars and all the games. Brill having a fridge and freezer.
Fire pits to borrow was wonderful treat. Local pub was excellent food and drink.
Thank you for a great stay, we’ll be back x

Disliked Better signage on bins would help
Hand towels in toilets missing

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked We all loved this site, the kids (10,9,8) were so happy with the football pitch, tennis net, golf putting, and the den to play in. Lovely little walk down to the pub and play area. Loved the big pitches and the free use of fire pits and picnic benches. Will definitely be coming back

Disliked Having to come home 😞
