Bring those boots made for walking, for you'll be hungry for the hikes around Shropshire's Teds Farm Camping. Based in Sheriffhales about four miles from Telford, this peaceful, friendly and popular little site is in land where walks are all around, meandering for miles through the wildlife havens of the green Shropshire countryside. Ted's is a smallholding, with grass pitches on a gently sloping field set among the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Sheep and ducks wander the site – the kids are welcome to say hi or go and meet some of the menagerie at the animal paddock – and free-range eggs and fresh meat are usually available for sale. Among the well-maintained amenities are showers and toilets, chemical disposal points and facilities for charging and recycling. There's easy access from the site to Sheriffhales village, just off the main A5.

Liked Lovely place. Friendly welcome.

Disliked spoiled by toilet block - shower neither powerful nor hot, despite notice promising better. Impossible to use with very little space in the cubicle for changing and hanging towel, clothes and bag. Would not have worked for my wife as no seating, nor grab rails. More expensive than we’re used to for the facilities. Hardstanding was sloping and not easy to level. My motorhome could not make use of the grey water disposal - most really need a ‘run over’ type drain if you are welcoming this type of camper. No WiFi and very patchy, unuseable mobile coverage.

Liked lovely quiet site well situated for ironbridge and local area. Clean toilets. Good farm shop with lovely cakes :)

Disliked Toilet block a little small but very clean. hopefully you can get the planning permission to build a bigger one

Disliked Very small shower cubicles in a portacabin. No room to change in shower units.

From the manager: Arrrgh! The showers, we know! We are waiting for the response from the planners, work will start as soon as we hear and the new block will be bigger. We tend to post a similar reply when people comment, we did what we could when we took over the business 4 years ago, adding extra showers and loos into the existing building, we know its not ideal but it's hard work getting to the point of redevelopment, hopefully not much longer. Thanks for staying with us and we hope we see you again Ted's Team

Site shop carrying essential items plus a few treats 😊

Liked Fantastic place, beautiful views, large pitch, very quiet and extremely clean showers and toilets.
The chickens were a particular highlight watching them wandering about occasionally visiting our tent.

Liked Everything! Our first trip out in our motor home and it didn’t disappoint. Very friendly welcome, site well maintained, toilets and showers spotless and a lovely farm shop on site- the eggs were delicious!

Liked Very helpful staff and owners who went out of their way to ensure my pitch was ok as a solo parent camper.

As you'll have brought your sturdy boots, stride out into the Shropshire Hills National Landscape in any direction for green countryside and wildlife haven walks, or drive in the Telford direction for a woodland wander around Wrekin Forest. Striding around establishments is also a topping option when on holiday in any locale, so check out the craft and antique shops, tearooms and pubs, grocers and butchers of the region's market towns like Ellesmere, Market Drayton, Oswestry, Bishops Castle, Ludlow, Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth.
