Easy access to the main road means that it’s simple to get out and explore your surroundings from this park, whether you’re heading up into town, going south into the Shropshire Hills National Landscape or aiming to take in places like Ludlow and the museums of Ironbridge. Once you’ve parked up on site, you can leave the car behind and get around by public transport if you prefer. Handy bus services to Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton leave from the nearby village of Dorrington (10 minutes’ walk away). There are plenty more useful things in the village too – it’s got a village shop, a butchers, a restaurant and a gastropub to make mealtimes easy (whether you’re doing your own cooking or eating out). Back on site, you’ll be staying at a pretty park with landscaped grounds and the extra level of peace you get from a child-free environment. As the name suggests, everything here has been designed to give a sense of luxury to your stay – the bathrooms, for example, have underfloor heating, rainfall showers and granite worktops, along with handy extras like hair dryers. Each pitch has a 16-amp electric supply, a drinking water and waste water facility and a digital TV hookup, and you’ll also have access to shared facilities including a laundry room, ultrafast fibre wifi and a dog wash station to avoid muddy paws after walks with your four-legged pal. Disliked Not much close by other than a shop and a pub but great taxi service into Shrewsbury for those wanting to park van up and leave it , dog friendly taxi too.

Liked Peaceful, tranquil site with amazingly clean top facilities. Pitch was smart and tidy and a good size with easy access to/from site. the staff was extremely friendly and helpful through out our stay, really enjoyed it and looking forward to returning in the future.

Liked Super friendly welcome. Great level hardstanding pitches in a tidy beautifully maintained site.
Fabulous bathrooms facilities. Spotless.
10 min walk to little local shop.
Great location for Shrewsbury and Attingham.
Believe there’s wifi but we didn't use it.
Good phone signal.

Liked Beautifully kept and maintained with exceptional facilities (the shower and loo rooms are better than many 5* hotels!) Lovely couple running it and their attention to details are second to none. Putting plants on all the picnic benches, music in the shower room and underfloor heating! Cotton buds and pads next to the sink with moisturiser and hand wash. They have also installed a dog washing station which sadly we didn’t use but it’s a professional grooming station! Amazing

Disliked Not a dislike just an observation, the site is off the busy A49 which makes access easy but does mean there is some background road noise. It’s not overbearing though so don’t let it put you off. When leaving the site, take your time looking right as there is a small hidden section of road about 200yards away and the traffic does come on to you very quickly

Albeit a small site, the facilities appeared brand new and very well maintained, exactly what was described.

Turning off the A49, getting to the site was a breeze compared with other sites where navigating lanes etc is required.

The pitch was perfect, no long cable runs or trying to get hoses to reach, everything was ideally placed for connections.

Local attractions

The Shropshire Hills National Landscape is well known as a lovely place for a walk, and you’ll be in prime position to explore from Stoney Acres. Some of the best known places to head for are Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd (15 minutes’ drive) and the Stiperstones National Nature Reserve (35 minutes), but there are plenty of quieter trails to seek out too. There are lots of historic locations to visit around this area too – perhaps you’d like to stroll around the grounds of Attingham Park Estate (15 minutes), step further back in time at Wroxeter Roman City (15 minutes) or get to know the various museums of Ironbridge Gorge (half an hour), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of the Industrial Revolution. For more days out, find boat trips and canoe hire in Shrewsbury (15 minutes) or head south to Ludlow (35 minutes) to browse its foodie shops, tour its gin distillery and see its ruined castle.
