  • Award-winning site on an Oxfordshire farm 10 mins' drive from Banbury
  • Blenheim Palace and Warwick Castle within a 40-minute drive
  • Friendly owners on hand to offer local advice; dogs welcome
‘Whatever you wish to do, we’ll try our best to help you achieve it,’ say the folk that run Anita's Touring Caravan Park – and that’s a generous offer indeed, as it’s quite likely the plethora of options around here for outings and activities may leave some guests feeling a little bewildered… This well-maintained award-winning site site is part of an Oxfordshire farm that’s very well located for all sorts of activities, whether you fancy gentle days of walking and cycling along local lanes or ticking off big attractions like Warwick Castle, Blenheim Palace and the British Motor Museum. You’ll also be able to add places like Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon to your list of places to go, and venture into the Cotswolds for scenic walks and visits to gorgeous towns and villages. Essentially, whatever you’ve got in mind, the friendly team here will help you out with leaflets, maps and suggestions – including ideas for places to eat and a few local spots you may not have thought of. As well as providing a welcoming atmosphere and heaps of useful advice, the owners have also set up lots of handy amenities for guests, including a well-stocked shop, picnic tables and a couple of covered eating areas to make mealtimes nice and easy. There’s also a dog park, a chemical disposal point and a smart fully tiled toilet block that’s kept clean at all times and has accessible facilities.

What customers say

A clean, well-kept campsite with helpful staff. Guests rave about spotless facilities, roomy pitches, and a great dog-walking area. Ideal for exploring local sights. Occasional road noise and spotty Wi-Fi were noted, but most had a great stay. A few suggested more kids' activities. Highly recommended for its quality and welcoming vibe; many plan to return.

Liked Really nice, tidy site. The wardens we saw were very friendly and helpful. Toilet and shower block clean at all times. Although alongside a main road with some road noise (it's a popular route for bikers on a sunny day) I would class the site as peaceful

Disliked Nothing I can think of

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted you enjoyed the site and found everything clean and well maintained. Our wardens will really appreciate your lovely comments.
We’re glad you still found the site peaceful overall, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked Very well kept site. Toilets were immaculate, their own little shop on site. Folks that ran the place were super friendly and helpful. Site is very secure with coded gates for entry and exit.

I don't often consider visiting a site twice but I'd definitely pop back for another weekend.

Tony S. 1 review

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked We really enjoyed our stay last weekend. The campsite was spotless, and the facilities were kept very clean throughout our visit. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

It’s a perfect spot for families. Although we stayed in our tent, we had a quick look at the pods, and they were brilliant. Ideal for anyone who wants to try camping but still prefers a bit of comfort and reassurance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would happily return.

Disliked At times, you can hear some noise from vehicles because the campsite is close to the main road, especially during the night. It’s something we had already seen mentioned in other reviews, and it’s to be expected with a site in that location. It didn’t affect our stay or stop us from enjoying the weekend.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re delighted to hear that you had such an enjoyable stay with us last weekend.
It’s great to know that you found the campsite and facilities clean and well maintained—our team works hard to keep everything to a high standard, so your feedback means a lot. We’re also pleased that our staff made you feel welcome and helped enhance your experience.
We’re glad you had a chance to see our pods too! They’re a popular option for guests looking for a bit of extra comfort while still enjoying the camping experience.
We also appreciate your understanding regarding the occasional road noise. As you mentioned, it’s something that comes with our location, but we’re very happy it didn’t impact your overall stay.
Thank you again for your kind words—we’d love to welcome you back again in the future!

Local attractions

As well as having tons of gorgeous walks and bike rides, this area is liberally dotted with heritage attractions. Nearby, you can flex that National Trust card at 18th-century Farnborough Hall (five minutes’ drive) and Upton House and Gardens (15 minutes), with a fabulous art collection as well as the gorgeous gardens. Broughton Castle (15 minutes) and Warwick Castle (25 minutes) are also not far off – or you could make the trip to Blenheim Palace (40 minutes) for a day exploring the state rooms, formal gardens and other attractions (including a maze, a mini train and a butterfly house). Even the urban centres around here are historic – you could walk in the footsteps of Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon (35 minutes), stroll around pretty Stow-on-the-Wold (45 minutes) or pop into the colleges of Oxford (45 minutes). For something a bit different, admire all the shiny vehicles at the British Motor Museum or book a meeting with the cute hairy cows at Colready Highlands – both are 15 minutes’ drive away.
