  • Touring pitches at a 12-acre country park on the edge of Spilsby
  • Close to Lincolnshire Wolds walks; 20 minutes' drive to Skegness
  • Five fishing lakes on site, with bait shop and accessible platforms
If you like to have a fishing lake on site when you’re travelling in your tourer, it’s fair to say that you’ll probably be very happy indeed with a stay at Woodlands Fishery, on the edge of the Lincolnshire town of Spilsby. And that’s because this 12-acre country park is home to a peaceful carp and coarse fishery complex that’s got not one, not even two, but a splendid five different lakes for pleasure anglers to choose from. Owners Pam and Keiran always do their utmost to ensure this is a top-notch experience for all guests, keeping the lakes well stocked with carp, perch, bream, tench, rudd and other species. You’ll need to bring a licence along if you’d like to fish, and agree to the catch-and-release policy; tackle and baits are available at the shop, along with snacks and drinks, and there are accessible platforms so everyone can join the fishing fun. Not into fishing? No problem – there are plenty of other ways to fill your time nearby. The site is on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, with lots of lovely footpaths to follow for scenic walks, and there are attractions nearby like the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre or the National Trust’s Gunby Estate. And as Skegness is a mere 20 minutes’ drive away there’s also scope for a day at the seaside. Closer to home, a 10-minute walk takes you to the town centre for shops, cafés, takeaways and the Monday market. Facilities on site include a launderette, a washing-up area and a toilet block with underfloor heating. Touring pitches all have electric and water supplies plus waste disposal.

Liked This site is absolutely stunning, the hard work that goes into creating the site and maintaining it is evident.
We were greeted upon arrival and shown to our pitch at the end of row as requested.
We spent 3 nights here, we only wanted a last caravan outing of the year and the site is only 40 miles away from our home.
Everything about the site is spotless, the pitches are even and pretty, the grounds are a real credit to the owners and the toilets are immaculate.
Although the weather wasn't kind to us we loved everything about this site.
The electric allowance within the pitch cost was very generous and it only cost us an additional 75p upon leaving.
I cannot recommend this site highly enough.
It is a very easy location to access from the main road and great place to relax with beautiful views.
If the weather had been nicer it would have been a pleasure to walk around the lakes.
We will most certainly return when we want to pop away for a quick weekend.
Thank you for being such lovely hosts and your hard work and effort is appreciated and obvious.
You have a beautiful site.

Liked We arrived on the Friday afternoon in atrocious weather and were greeted with a really warm welcome by Pam the owner and checked in. We were shown to our pitch personally despite the bad weather. Everything regarding the site was fully explained and we were left to set up. Keiran the owners son is super helpful and again nothing was to much trouble even checking our electricity reading and returning our deposit minus the £2.25 that we had used above our free allowance to us on the pitch. A beautiful dog friendly site that we shall definitely be returning to again. Thanks for a superb stay guys.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Liked We Loved absolutely everything such a stunning well maintained picture perfect setting with everything needed.

We had a warm and friendly welcome from the Owner Pam we arrived on the evening and was personally taken to our pitch overlooking the lake 🏞️🐟🎣

Woodlands Fishery is even pretty during the night with the colour changing lights and sparkly trees with glizeng lights,
We enjoyed the day fishing 🎣 with our children who caught some 🐟 Fish.

We had a walk around the 5 fishing lakes to explore the grounds which are simply stunning.

Well lite up area at the communal shower blocks. With separate female, male and a separate disabled facilities.
Which are spotlessly clean 🫧

The location is brilliant just a short 10 minutes walk to the local shops, pubs and restaurants we dined out at the local Indian restaurant really enjoyed plus you can take your own alcohol 😉 if you fancy a takeaway Chinese, Indian, pizza, fish and chips they all deliver to woodland fisheries 👌

Can't wait to stay again in our Moho 🚍 and especially when the luxury pod go on we will be booking those.

Liked Absolutely everything. First visit and we received a warm friendly informative welcome. Fabulous little gem of a site, real thought and care have gone into everything at this gorgeous site. The outside lighting is beautiful, the toilets and showers would give some top hotels a run for their money. Spotlessly clean and so very well designed. Everything has been designed so beautifully, we loved our two night stay and will absolutely be back, thie time for longer.
This is how a campsite should look like and be run, other sites on here could learn a lot from this site. Well done guys, you can see how passionate you are and it shows, congratulations on getting everything bang on the money 👏👏👏.

Disliked That we couldn't stay longer.

Liked Small well kept site with spotless facilities and lovely views over the fishing lakes. The town of Spilsby is well within walking distance for 2 supermarkets, 3 pubs, and a good selection of takeaways. I personally recommend the fish and chips and the Nelson Butt pub which offers great atmosphere and drinks and fantastic food (be prepared to book for Sunday lunch) at reasonable prices. Don't be put off by the metered electric. Over 4 nights, we in a motorhome used a little over 29 kwh of which 16 is inclusive of the pitch cost. At the end of our stay we paid an extra £3 for the electric. This was in October and we had the heating on overnight.

Disliked Not much to dislike at all. Minor issue with the position of the smoke alarm in the facilities which is just a little too close to the shower cubicles and got triggered by the steam.

Local attractions

Drive north for a few minutes and you’ll reach the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape, a lovely area for walks among low hills. If you’re more of a stroller than a hiker, maybe you’d prefer a wander around one of the local heritage attractions – with a drive of 10 minutes you can get to either the ruins of 13th-century Bolingbroke Castle (birthplace of Henry IV) or the grander Gunby Estate, Hall and Gardens, with walled gardens, elaborate interiors and a rather nice tea room. For a different kind of history, head to Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre (10 minutes’ drive), which has exhibits about World War II Bomber Command including a Lancaster bomber. Fancy some sea air? It’s a 20-minute drive to Skegness for a walk along the beach, a go on the rides at the amusement park and a visit to Natureland Seal Sanctuary. A little way south of the town, Gibraltar Point (25 minutes’ drive) is a popular location for birdwatchers; you might also spot seals here sometimes.
