What customers say
Great spot near the beach, with helpful staff and spacious pitches. Facilities are clean but dated and far from some tents. Expect geese and occasional noise. Good value for families and a quiet coastal escape.

Liked Great location, very quiet and friendly. Beach on doorstep. Staff were very polite and nothing was too much hard work. The residents fishing match on Friday and Saturday were great to watch, they were very comical between them.
We will return it was lovely.
Toilets and showers were clean.
Disliked Nothing were to dislike a recommendation would be to have the water feature in the lake turn off at dark so it can be even more peaceful during the night.

The location is not enough to entice us to return.
Powered grass RV campsite
Liked Balanced fair review after making 5 bookings in recent years.
The location is great as its a stroll from the beach.
Relaxed atmosphere. Hard working staff who are polite.
Showers and toilets are constantly being cleaned by a lovely lady who works around campers.
Mostly large pitches.
Disliked On our first booking in our motorhome we asked to be next to our family who were in a tent on the other field and were told it was not possible so we accepted what we were told as it seemed busy and they were not able to accomodate us despite making the request some time earlier in the year when we booked. When we stayed in May motorhomes and tents were pitched together on the field next to the lake so when we arrived on this booking last week we asked to stay next to our daughter who was in a tent and were told that the rules had changed and it was not possible. I assume it was their own rules. 2 days later whilst we were staying, we saw a motorhome had been pitched on the field we had asked to be on with a large party of people in amongst the tents. A couple of days after, a tent pitched with the caravans and motorhomes. I can only assume that rules change constantly on this site. A response to this would be welcomed.
Although some pitches appear large, the 6 meter fire break is continually abused without challenge. The smell and relaxed approach to drug smoking make it unpleasant and unacceptable for children. People do not clear up after their dogs and this is largely ignored. Unfortunately for the business owners, the fact that there doesn't seem to be anyone taking responsibility, in even a collective way, for the dirt and rubbish within a clearly deprived area make this campsite and others not a place, sadly, that we will return to. There wasnt a single shop or cafe that served with any politeness or motivation. Its such a shame for the staff at this hard working campsite.
No wifi and poor data connection.
No activities for younger children and balls being kicked around despite signs saying no ball games.
Pitches not checked before the next person arrives and because of this my daughter sustained a puncture in her tyre because tent pegs had not been removed before she arrived on her pitch. We stayed for 10 days and never saw any pitches checked. Rubbish left around site. There was a television thrown into one of the lakeside bushes, metal spoons also. Despite reporting nothing was acted upon.
The showers and toilets are old and desperately need updating. How the wonderful cleaner keeps them as clean as she does is a miracle. She deserves a medal.

A good site especially for beach access and fishing
Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Location is brilliant, an 2 minute walk and your on the beach. Pitches are flat and clean. V. hard ground given the recent weather so a hammer is a must have! The onsite fishing is great and the tackle shop huge… good prices too. The washing up area was inside and a good facility to have. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bins provided are great as well!
Disliked Pitches weren’t marked out, if you weren’t obviously using the area next to your tent it was given away and people would spread out using wind breakers (we put our table and chairs away when we went out).
The toilets are a walk from the tent pitches but that was fine. Toilets and showers were tired but usable.
