Beautiful evening
Beautiful witham river our pod and touring field are on the river bank
Hardstanding and grass pitches
New tour field upgrade is all finished and looking amazing - 19 hard-standing pitches

  • Scenic park on the river Witham, 10 minutes' drive from Tattershall
  • A 35-minute drive from Lincoln and 15 from Tattershall Farm Park
  • Playground, river fishing, waterside walks and pub-restaurant on site
What a lovely Lincolnshire location this is – dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park’s location on the banks of the Witham river is a mighty scenic place to spend a bit of time… You’re on holiday, so you’d be quite justified in deciding to settle down right there by the river for lengthy periods in the company of a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has one mile of fishing along the river Witham, all set just 20 metres from the pitches. The on-site fishing is known for tench, carp and big bream weighing up to seven kilograms, as well as its fortnightly competitions. A modern gym is on-hand for those times when you feel like fitting in a good workout. For families, there’s a playground as well as an indoor pool (open during high season only) where they can play about whatever the weather. If they (or you) are plane fans, they may like to know that RAF Conningsby is a short distance away with a World War II museum. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week) but settle down for your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the on-site pub and restaurant is likely to be your go-to. Serving up homecooked food, it has a beer garden overlooking the river along with local entertainment such as singers, bingo and karaoke. On Saturdays and Sundays, it serves a full English breakfast, and on Sundays, there is a Sunday roast up for grabs. It also has a kids' menu. For out-and-about times, local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

What customers say

A friendly, well-kept park by the river, a hit with plane spotters near RAF Coningsby. Reviews highlight clean showers/toilets and helpful staff. Pods are well-equipped and good value. Some minor issues noted, but most found it a peaceful escape and plan to return.

Liked Friendly staff and the clubhouse was good.

Disliked No hot water in the toilet block. I spoke to a member of staff a few times and all he said was it’s out of my hands.
A lady who was on the next pitch to us said it’s an on going problem, she had no hot water in May.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked do enjoy this place, a place we do regularly visit
Clean site
Phill was lovely and site maintenance guy was also very helpful, helped to get tourer on pitch due to it been busy but was no bother to him at all
Kids loved the pool (didn’t want to get out)
Bar also a good price
Genuinely enjoyed the 3 days their apart from a small minor issue with some regulars on site

Disliked Not much choice on the restaurant menu especially with picky children, found it disappointing that they was charging £10 for frozen pizzas with only 1 option to choose from
(Ordered take out resulting in 2 caravan owners been very rude towards us stating it was pointless them having a restaurant on site when people are bringing food on site yet we already checked to make sure it was fine with phill)

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Very friendly staff and locals. We've added 2 nights extra on our stay its been that good. Bar prices very reasonable and the food in the restaurant is very very nice. Indoor pool which the daughter has never been out of! Right on the edge of a river so a nice walk with the dog is easy. Added bonus of jet planes flying over now and then. Phill the owner is very friendly and helpful and will pop around and see you once you have arrived then leave you to get on with it unless you need help then you can easily contact him. Even the Sunderland supporter who runs the bar is a top fella!! 🤣🤣. Thanks so much for welcoming us, we will definitely be back.

Camping pod

Liked The pod had everything you need, comfortable and enough space for 1 adult 1 teen and a dog, the bed was easy to put up and take down having a fridge was great when it was warm.

The chairs on the deck are a good touch.

It is a well laid out site and although very very cold, the pool was a nice addition.

The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and showed us to the pod. When we couldn't lock the door the person who showed up to help was lovely.

Being really close to RAF Coningsby was lovely and seeing the jets completing their maneuvers during the day and night was a treat.

There is a nice walk down the Riverside although not too much along there.

Disliked When we arrived pue pod was not clean, rhe rubbish bin was full of someon elses rubbish, the floor had not been swept, thwre was dirty water in the kettle and the surfaces were grubby. We had pue camping cleaning stuff with us so cleaned the pod thoroughly purselves when we couldn't see anyone.

There was only 1 shower functional in the womens facilities as the other had had the door pulled off before our stay. ( this is noted on earlier reviews too)

The washing up area needs some attention, it leaks all over your feet and then backs up with floating food.

The shop was not open, it looked like it was being sorted out while we were there.

Pods need a little bit of TLC -our kettle was cracked and sharp on the handle (we had our own.from.camping in the car so used that instead) and there was a number of.missing poles from the decking fence part ( we found a bit of wood to try to bridge one of the gaps for our dog) plus some rotten areas on the deck.

We had a bit of a mixed experience with staff. Our experience was spoilt a little by the attitude of the barmaid and a coulpe of others on our first night ( mon).

We went into the bar because it said it opened at 4, we went in around 7/7.30, there were a few what seemed like locals or regulars, we initially asked for help as we couldn't lock our pod, we were TOLD, not in here, to check reception ( we said we had no-one was there) or ring the number on the door ( we said we tried) she went out for a Min or so, came back and said - I don't know where he is, I can't ring, ring this number and go back to the pod' We did and.eventually a lovely man came to help.

We thought not much more about it until we went into the bar and tried to order food, we were told VERY RUDELY by the barmaid that ' food isn't my job I don't know what's on' and then ' it's cash only for food ' ( it didn't say that anywhere we could see so wetent prepared), we were then abruptly asked what I want to drink.

The barmaid was sullen and rude the whole time we were there, she genuinely looked like she didn't want to be there, not even a single smile the whole time and on her phone. WE eventually spoke to someone else who allowed us to.order food, he was lovely, it took a while and we got our meals ( food was OK but not great) at around 8.30pm, the whole time we were sat there the barmaid and one of the ( very sweary locals - young lad blue jumper ) were talking extremely loudly about how the bar was closing at 9pm. Over and over again, we felt really uncomfortable, they were clearly talking loudly knowing we were in earshot. . The same lad was aggressive when he was told only staff were allowed in the kitchen ( his reply was expletive filled and along the lines of some people think they are more important than they are ) this experience spoilt the bar for us and we only returned once more to play pool in the back room but didn't not go in the main bar, which we would normally have popped into each night.

It's a shame as it could really be special. We would love to stay again with a better all around experience.

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance to get a bit of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre. Take off to Tattershall (around 10 minutes’ drive) for a wander around Tattershall Castle – a proper textbook castle with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from tiddlers (and quite probably their elders too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll likely feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 here, and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
