  • Small and simple site in a Lincolnshire orchard among horse paddocks
  • A 20-minute drive to Lincoln city centre, with bus service nearby
  • Well-spaced level pitches; pub and shop within a mile
If small, peaceful and simple are your watchwords when choosing a site, have a good look at Grange Farm Caravan and Campsite. The handful of level grass pitches at this Lincolnshire site are set in a quiet old orchard, surrounded by horse paddocks – a lovely spot for a relaxing break. With such a setting you’ll probably feel like you’re right out in the countryside, but in fact this site is only a little way beyond the outskirts of Lincoln, making it very easy to pop in to the city to visit its castle, cathedral and museums or find cafés, shops and restaurants. It’s about a 20-minute drive to the centre, or you can get there on the bus from a stop less than half a mile away. A convenience store and pub are within a mile of the site, too. This is a site that’s focused on the essentials rather than installing lots of added extras – the well-spaced pitches are set among the trees and all have electric hookups along with access to a chemical disposal point. Picnic tables and a drinking water supply are also provided, and you can use the toilet and shower in a characterful restored pantiled farm building (including wheelchair-accessible facilities). When you’re not relaxing on site or wandering around the city, you can be visiting local attractions like Lincoln Zoo, Doddington Hall & Gardens or International Bomber Command Centre, or taking scenic walks through the gentle hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked It’s close to Lincoln and a lovely nature reserve. This is a small quiet site with large but flat pitches. With some shade(we camped during a heatwave)so this was a godsend. No additional costs for 2nd car. Basic but clean shower and toilets. The campsite is surrounded by horse paddocks which was nice. There were loads of wild rabbits which my little boy loved.

Disliked There is no pot washing area. Just a tap. This was our first family camping holiday. So this might be pretty standard for most campsites. But it made washing up a bit difficult.
