  • Small Lincolnshire site next to a working farm with horses and sheep
  • A 15-minute drive to Lincoln; about one hour to the North Sea coast
  • Five minutes’ walk to a golf course; half an hour’s walk to the pub
Small in size but offering a big welcome, Branston Moor Campsite is a peaceful spot about seven miles south east of Lincoln (15 minutes’ drive). Close to the village of Branston (five minutes), where there are pub and supermarket amenities, this rural spot sits next to the owners’ working farm, so you may catch sight of horses and sheep while you’re out and about around the pitches. In addition to well-maintained and level grounds, Branston Moor has access to simple facilities such as a small toilet block with flushing toilets, showers and a washing-up shack with cold taps and a small fridge. Guests here are also welcome to build a campfire – as long as the weather conditions mean it’s safe to do so. If you like to play golf, the nearest course is just up the road (about five minutes away on foot); if that’s not your thing, there are lots of cycling and walking trails in the local area too, not to mention a pub in nearby Potterhanworth (about half an hour’s walk away). While many guests will want to stick close to base and focus on exploring Lincoln or the Lincolnshire Wolds, it’s pretty easy to get out to the coast too, since seaside spots like Mablethorpe or Donna Nook can be reached in about an hour by car.

What customers say

This quiet, friendly site has a relaxed vibe with roomy, level spots. Guests loved the clean washrooms and showers, plus the owners' help. Quirky, well-equipped common areas and lodges, like the kitchen, were a hit. BBQs and campfires are okay. It's in a nice country spot, close to Lincoln.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked We liked the peaceful, spacious site. Roy welcomed us on arrival. The toilets were clean, and the showers worked well. There were nice pubs within driving distance.

Disliked A bigger washbasin, or a washing area, would have been nice.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. A bigger hand washing area is on our to do list. The summerhouse for the campsite was out latest project.

Spot on.

Upcycled microlodge

Liked Lovely owners very helpful. Nice quiet, quirky campsite. Trailer/glamping was excellent and really enjoyed it. The trailer had all your basics a kettle, induction hob, lightening, cups, plates, knives and forks etc. A fold out bed, plenty of seating inside and out plus a couple of loungers. A cool box was provided and a fan as the weather was hot(though we didn’t use it as the temperature was just right for us at night time). There are two toilets and two showers( loved the shower ). There are plenty of walks from the campsite. Very relaxing and excellent value I would definitely recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Lovely little campsite, very peaceful surrounded by countryside and horse fields. Summer house is a great addition for those with small tents to escape the cold and rain. Washing up area with hot water plus the use of a twin tub washing machine. Great eggs!

Disliked Gas showers were a little chilly in the wind and difficult to control the temperature.

Local attractions

Consecrated at the end of the 11th century, the cathedral in Lincoln has a spectacular vaulted interior and stained-glass windows, while Lincoln Castle displays one of only four existing copies of the original Magna Carta. On the outskirts of the city, Boultham Mere Nature Reserve is an area of wetlands inhabited by wintering birds. National Trust - Tattershall Castle (half an hour’s drive) is an imposing medieval fortress built in red brick. Its Great Tower is adorned with huge Flemish tapestries, ornate windows and oversized fireplaces. It is possible to walk along the battlements for far-reaching views of the Lincolnshire Fens. A day at the seaside is always a good idea, so head to the North Sea coast to places such as Mablethorpe (one hour), with a vast sandy beach popular with watersports enthusiasts, and the seafront Queen’s Park, featuring a paddling pool, boating lake and miniature golf. Donna Nook (one hour) is a breeding ground for grey seals.
