  • Family-run site on a 30-acre farm near Horncastle, Lincolnshire
  • Half an hour’s drive to Skegness, and 40 minutes to Gibraltar Point
  • Campfires encouraged: meals provided to heat up
Off to Lincolnshire for some rural rest and relaxation? Get back to nature and the simple life with a stay at welcoming New Farm Holidays, set in 30 acres of peaceful woodland near Horncastle. This is properly remote camping, so why not have a wander around the organic farm? There’s bags of room for kids to run off energy in complete safety, building dens, playing games and splashing around in the lake. Or how about sitting back on clear nights to watch the stars twinkling in the Milky Way? Mains electricity, flushing toilets, a hot shower and dishwashing facilities are all available on site, along with wifi. The car park is 100 yards from the pitches, and a large cart is available for guests to shift their gear onto site. A roaring fire is essential when you’re camping, and at New Farm Holiday, every pitch has a dedicated firepit area so you can curl up in the warmth with a glass of wine or cook up a barbecue. A large bag of logs, kindling and firelighters is available for a small charge, or you’re welcome to bring your own logs – but please don’t gather firewood from the woods.

Camping pod

Liked The area itself was beautiful and the hosts were great too. We stayed in a en suite pod which was perfect.

Disliked The 'local' shop was 20 mins away and the fridge could have been larger but that's being picky

From the manager: Hi Lauren
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Delighted you enjoyed your stay. The amazing weather caught me by surprise.
(You would have been very welcome to use the large shared fridge on site too.)

Meadow powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Loved everything! Great pitch size, fab fire pit, fantastic hot shower! Good toilet facilities and great view. Definitely recommend and would love to come back in the future. Only 40 mins from the seaside too. Loved the info and web book link that was sent beforehand with all the information needed. Also great for wildlife- saw a deer in the early hours of the morning and a frog!

Powered forest floor tent campsite (woodland)

Liked Amazing site with only 8 pitches, 4 in the woods, 4 next to a field. Weather was unbelievable while the rest of the country had storms. Site really clean and picturesque. Toilets and showers really conveniently located. Will definitely be coming back. Best site we have ever stayed at. All pitches have power, water and wi-fi. Incredibly good value.

Powered forest floor tent campsite (woodland)

Liked The site had beautiful well maintained grounds you can see the hard work gone into it, the pitch was in woodland and good walks on site for the dogs, good facilities including good WI-FI , toilet and shower lots of hot water, bark lined walkways to pitch’s, it really is an exceptional place plus we also seen a red deer which was amazing to see.

Disliked Our pitch 9 the fire pit seemed to be in the walkway for people going past to the toilet. Vehicle access to your pitch unless you are on a field facing pitch, this we knew before hand and understand the reasons behind it, wheel barrows are provided to move your stuff but it’s hard work especially at check out a lot of back and forth. We didn’t find a lot around the area we could do with the dogs.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Delighted you enjoyed your stay. I'm going to make sure I gather more dog friendly activities and I'll add those to my welcome guidebook for future visitors. Thank you.

Powered forest floor tent campsite (woodland)

Liked We had such a wonderful stay at this campsite, it’s truly a gem, tucked away in the Lincolnshire countryside.

Communication leading up to the holiday was great, with text updates and a fantastic web-app with all the information needed about the site, facilities, things to do locally and contact details.

The site location is beautiful, nestled in a small woodland surrounded by farmers fields. We really enjoyed loading our things into a wheelbarrow and following the winding path through the trees to find our pitch. The pitch itself was big, tucked onto the trees under the canopy and came complete with electric hookup (we didn’t use this), drinking water, picnic table, and fire pit. The view from the pitch was so pretty.

The toilet block and washing facilities were only a short walk away, they were well maintained and clean, and the water was lovely and hot.

There was also an honesty hut with delicious Lincolnshire sausages, and fridge and freezer which can be used by guests.

We were the only ones on the whole site during most of our stay, which made it even more magical and peaceful.

The host was incredibly accommodating and friendly (thank you so much for the late checkout).
We’re definitely planning to stay here again on our next visit to Lincolnshire.

From the manager: Wow Liam! Such a comprehensive review. Thank you. Delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. Those sausages ARE rather special too aren't they!

Liked Private pitches
Very clean and well maintained facilities
Spotless grounds
Lovely trails

The campsite was perfect and the experience was brilliant from start to finish. The walk from the car park through the woods is magical. Our 4 year old loved exploring. The site is a paradise for children to run free, chase butterflies and follow their imagination. This is a real hidden gem and we will be back!

Disliked Perfect stay

Liked We absolutely loved the location!
We loved chucking our stuff into a wheelbarrow and wheeling off into the forest, something just really cool and magical about it.
The area was so tidy and well kept.
We arrived during the week and were the only ones on site so it was really really peaceful and at night time we could hear the animals walking around us. By the end of our stay more people had arrived and it was still perfect. Well spaced out, plenty of privacy.
The facilities are great, too. A very lovely, hot shower, enough toilets for all and a decent couple of sinks to wash your plates in.
We would love to come back and bring our kids next time as we think they would love it, too.

Disliked Having to go home :(

Local attractions

From coast to countryside, activities to attractions, Lincolnshire has masses to offer all comers, what with family jaunts around a dinosaur trail and encounters with rare arctic foxes at ARK Wildlife and Dinosaur Park (five minutes’ drive), and meeting cheeky parrots or feeding tigers at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park (15 minutes). If you’d rather spot some wildlife actually in the wild, Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve (40 minutes) is the place to be, for rambles across dunes and the chance to spot colonies of common seals. If you like to be beside the seaside, Skegness (half an hour) is a riot of family fun, with amusement arcades, go-karting, mini-golf and fairground rides – and that’s before you hit the sandy beach. If you’d prefer a more sedate trip to the coast, the New Farm team recommend their favourite spot, Chapel Six Marshes (40 minutes). Lincolnshire’s also known for its military connections: the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre (10 minutes) is home to one of the few Lancaster Bombers still in existence, and there are more vintage World War Two planes on display at the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre (20 minutes).
