Fishing lake

  • Family-run touring and camping park on a working arable farm
  • Just over a mile from Anderby Creek beach; Skegness 20 minutes
  • Well-stocked fishing lake on site (charges apply)
Stroll along the sand, explore the Lincolnshire countryside or spend your time fishing in the well-stocked lake at Manor Farm Caravan Park, a family-run touring and camping park that's been operating in this pretty corner of the English countryside since 1998. With spacious, level and individually marked pitches, this site, which is part of a larger arable farm, prides itself on its peaceful atmosphere and excellent facilities, including a well-stocked fishing lake (charges apply) and a spotless modern amenities block that's kept heated for your comfort. The park is about a mile from the coastal village of Anderby, home to gorgeous Anderby Creek beach, where there are sand dunes and a café to visit. The site also has immediate access to the Lincolnshire Coast Country Park, while the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty starts a quarter of an hour's drive inland to the west. Pubs and local shops can be found in the string of villages that runs along this part of the Lincolnshire coast, but for bigger stores and supermarkets, your best bet is to head towards the larger seaside towns of Mablethorpe (15 minutes) or Skegness (20 minutes).

Liked Nice and quiet site which is easy to find. The toilet facilities were excellent. Modern toilet and shower cubicles with ample hot water and spotless clean. Nicely located if you like to walk to the beach and local towns with Chapel St. Leonards one way and Sandilands the other. The National Trust are building a wetlands reserve close by too.

Disliked Weeds growing on the hardstandings and litter in the bushes. Little in the way of facilities on site apart from fish and chips on a Friday evening. The nearest shop is a co-op in Chapel SL.

Liked Facilities were modern and clean
Pitch sizes were very generous
Camping was not over crowded

Disliked The ‘caravan club’ feel. Felt very unwelcome by the majority.
Older kids zooming around on electric bikes were a nuisance and dangerous with young children around.

Liked Big pitches, modern shower blocks, very good wi-fi, quiet location.
A welcoming host who gave us the choice of where we wanted to pitch up.
Nicely kept grounds around the fishing lake and good fishing too.
Lots of different birds around & plenty of rabbits too.

Disliked The washing up area was not under cover. During our stay it became very windy & also rained. This meant that before washing up, the sinks & drainers needed to be fully wiped down to remove leaves, twigs etc. A simple lean to construction would prevent this.

Liked Such a beautiful site. Sad we didn’t get longer there. The owners and team and absolutely lovely. Everything is so clean! The toilet block, bathroom (with bath!!), and disabled toilet and shower were immaculate. The pitches were beautifully level. I can’t say enough good things about it. Oh the fish and chip van on a Friday does really really good food!

Local attractions

To start off, walk down to the beach (25 minutes) and then up the coast along the sand dunes to Moggs Eye, or drive a little further to the north for a round of golf at Sandilands Golf Course (five minutes' drive), a well-maintained links with stunning sea views. Also along the coast, you might like to visit the fascinating North Sea Observatory (five minutes' drive, or an hour on foot), a striking building with exhibits about the area's natural history. If animals are your thing, you'll find plenty to keep you busy in the surrounding area, from visiting the retired and rescued beasts of burden at Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary (five minutes) to the family-friendly park at Hardy's Animal Farm (15 minutes) or The Seal Sanctuary Wildlife Centre (20 minutes). Head a little bit further afield to Donna Nook (40 minutes) and, at certain times of year, you're in with a good chance of seeing seals in the wild as well. For classic bucket and spade days, make sure to visit Skegness (20 minutes) – after a little time on the beach, you can take strolls along the pier, check out the town's historic clock tower, see what's swimming at the aquarium or head just to the north and to Ingoldmells (15 minutes from base) to explore the kid-pleasing attractions at Fantasy Island theme park.
