What customers say
This well-maintained campsite is praised for its beautiful scenery, peaceful atmosphere, and excellent, spotlessly clean shower and toilet facilities. Guests frequently highlight the friendly and welcoming owners, spacious pitches, and convenient location. While most visitors have an overwhelmingly positive experience, a few have noted occasional overcrowding and minor noise from a nearby road, particularly during busy periods. The site is noted as being new and developing.

Primitive grass RV campsite
Liked Lovely shower facilities, spotlessly clean. Thoroughly enjoyed having the place to myself on my midweek stay. There was always a breeze, even on the hottest days.
Disliked The only minor thing is that the grey water disposal is not accessible for motorhomes - it works fine for caravans using the barrel system. But really a minor issue and it won't stop me returning.

Lovely rustic open site.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Great views and it was lovely to hear the horses. The facilities are rustic in style but clean and tidy with hot water.
Disliked Broken glass and sharp tile like pieces on the track around the gates. The road is just the other side of the hedge you camp against.

Primitive grass RV campsite
Liked Second visit here and once again not disappointed. Clean and well stocked toilet and shower block, the showers are brilliant especially after a day cooking in a heatwave. The non electric grass pitch was spacious and level with lovely views.
Disliked A little traffic noise from the road alongside but nothing to dislike about tge actual site.

Friendly, well-maintained campsite.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We had an enjoyable weekend at this campsite! The location was good - close to Donington Park Circuit and easily accessible from the M1. The facilities were nice, with clean and well-maintained showers and toilets, two of each. The grounds were well kept and the hosts were kind and helpful, ready to offer suggestions or assist. Pitch sizes were good - we had 5 medium size tents across 2 pitches, and it was a bonus to be able to park two cars opposite / next to it. The supplied fire-pit and logs were well priced. The site is on a working farm and horse riding school, but noise levels were not an issue. There’s a nice pub and a village shop in Belton, a short walk from the campsite. Overall, it was a great experience.

Would definitely return
Primitive grass RV campsite
Liked Beautiful countryside, easy to find, lots to do in the area including easy walking and cycling routes with direct access from the camp. Facilities clean and tidy, lovely shower.
Disliked Couldn't get on allocated pitch as large motorhome had spread out over the pitch so selected a vacant one and that was fine. Paid for firewood in advance but couldn't find out how to get it?

Primitive grass RV campsite
Liked The location, it was really scenic. The showers and toilets are new. A bit quirky and rustic themed which fitted perfectly with the surrounding. The honesty shop was a nice touch. Being in a working riding school it was lovely to see the horses, and honestly the location is beautiful. The Elsan point was lovely and clean and easily accessible. Couldn’t fault the facilities, especially for the price.
Disliked I think they’d crammed people in for the bank holiday weekend. Every pitch was allocated, but there wasn’t enough space so people had to put up tents on spaces that weren’t allotted as pitches. We have a 7.5 x 2.8m motorhome, and while pitch up states the pitch size will be a max of 7.5m wide x 10.5m long, the actual size of our plot was just under 5m wide. Luckily, the person that should have been next to us was one of the people who had to pitch their tent on a random piece of grass, so the next pitch was empty. But, had the pitch been filled, we wouldn’t have been able to open our awning (which it states is included in the price). We paid extra for our tow car, and we struggled to find anywhere to park it.
There were groups of people who had crammed multiple tents onto single pitches bringing several vehicles with them. They were playing music into the early hours of the morning. We were really disappointed as the reviews had said how lovely and quiet it was, but our experience was quite the contrary.
The refuse bins were not substantial enough for how busy the site was. We arrived on Saturday morning, and by the evening the 2 small wheels bins and small recycling box were already overflowing. By the time we left on the Monday morning, there were rubbish bags piled up all around the bins.
I understand that the owners were away on holiday, so had left the site in someone else’s hands. I’m unsure if the issues we had were down to poor supervision, over booking, lack of visitor vetting or a combo of everything.
It hasn’t put us off coming back, as I think it was just a perfect storm of circumstances. But it wasnt what we thought it was going to be for that weekend.

From the manager: Hi Natalie,
Thank you for your review and feedback! As you mentioned we were away and unfortunately during that time out booking system went very wrong! Allowing too many people to book, by which time we were unable to change this so tried to accommodate the best we could. We never have that many pitches on site as we are a small rural site. Please accept our sincerest apologies. Please drop us an email and we will sort out a way of inviting you back so you can see the site normally on us! :)
I look forward to hearing from you,
