Main entrance into the site

  • Peaceful, dog-friendly farm site two miles from Moreton-in-Marsh
  • A 10-minute drive to Sezincote Estate; half an hour to Blenheim Palace
  • Firepits for hire; Diddly Squat Farm Shop 15 minutes’ drive
Step into the splendid Gloucestershire countryside and set up camp just two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds National Landscape. With Pebbly Barn Farm as your base, fab, far-reaching views are a given, as is a warm welcome into a peaceful retreat where well-behaved dogs are welcomed on leads and adventures in the Cotswolds are within easy reach… Once you’ve pitched up your tent in the roomy fields here, set off on the walking and cycling trails in the surrounding area (some of them begin very close by). You could make off to Moreton-in-Marsh's antique emporiums, tearooms, art galleries and delis, half an hour’s walk away, or time your visit right for the town’s Tuesday open-air market. With the Four Shire Stone on the outskirts of the town, another option is standing in the old meeting point of the four counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire (cool, huh?) There's also plenty of scope for tasty dinnertimes, with cafés, restaurants and pubs (including a couple rumoured to be past haunts of the author J.R.R. Tolkien) on the town high street and barbecues permitted on site (on a proper stand to protect the grass). The famed Diddly Squat Farm Shop is also 15 minutes' drive away. As for when the sun goes down, there are firepits for hire on site. The facilities here include toilets, showers and a handy dishwashing area, all close to the peaceful pitches. And though it may be rural, you won't be cut off here as Moreton-in-Marsh’s train station has routes to London and Cheltenham, and bus services go to many Cotswold towns and villages.

What customers say

Pebbly Barn Farm gets rave reviews for its roomy, tidy sites and super-clean, modern facilities. Owners are consistently praised as friendly and helpful, the vibe is peaceful, and it's a prime spot for exploring the Cotswolds. Dog amenities and fire pit rentals are big hits. A few folks noted pitches can be a bit far from facilities, with occasional waits during busy periods.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Toilets and Showers were spotless. The owners were amazing, drove around once you were set up to check on you, and you could order firepits/fuel from them. Campsite was large, had enough space between everyone. FYI you can pitch up in the middle of the field - everyone stuck to the outside! Would come again. About 1 mile, 5 min drive into the town with coffee shops, mini tesco/coop and Aldi. Big Tesco about 10 mins drive. Can drive in and out when needed.

Disliked Only on the Saturday night, one area of the campsite didn't abide to quiet hours and were blaring music until near 12am, however this is no fault of the campsite.

Sara H. 1 review

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Campsite that’s really well taken care of and with lots of attention to detail and cleanliness. You can tell the family that runs it are proud of it and keep it to a high standard. Loved that it’s an open field and you can decide where to pitch plus can have your car parked directly next to your tent (helps with unloading and loading). Views are lovely, and so is the nearby walk to the dog park. Would definitely recommend and will likely be back if in the area.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Sara!

It was a real pleasure to read your comments. Knowing that you could see the care and attention we put into the campsite means a great deal. As a family-run site, we're proud of what we've created, so it's especially rewarding to hear that reflected in your experience.
We're so pleased you enjoyed the freedom to choose your own pitch, the convenience of parking alongside your tent, and the open space that helps give the campsite its relaxed atmosphere. It's also lovely to hear you enjoyed the views and made the most of the walk to our enclosed dog exercise field.

Thank you for recommending us and for your kind words. We'd be delighted to welcome you back whenever you're next visiting the Cotswolds.

Warm regards,
John & the Pebbly Barn Farm Team

Local attractions

Where can a 10-minute car ride get you? It turns out, a lot of places. There’s the dog-friendly plant centre and café at the 56-acre Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre (10 minutes’ drive), flying displays from falcons, eagles and other birds of prey at the Cotswold Falconry Centre (10 minutes) or the splendid 18th-century gardens at Bourton House Garden (10 minutes). Sezincote House (10 minutes) is another of those close-by spots and a rare authentic Mughal palace with a house and tea room – get there on foot if you wish by following the local Moreton Eight walk near the site. With the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace (half an hour) and the National Trust’s Chastleton House (10 minutes) close by too, there are many more options to have a nose around additional historic buildings. When you’re ready for some animal life, Cotswold Farm Park’s rare breeds, outdoor play and bouncy pillows (20 minutes) are likely to be a hit with the kids, or perhaps a peaceful picnic by the river Windrush in Bourton-on-the-Water (20 minutes) will do, with Birdland the prize attraction here.
