Main entrance into the site

  • Peaceful, dog-friendly farm site two miles from Moreton-in-Marsh
  • A 10-minute drive to Sezincote Estate; half an hour to Blenheim Palace
  • Firepits for hire; Diddly Squat Farm Shop 15 minutes’ drive
Step into the splendid Gloucestershire countryside and set up camp just two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds National Landscape. With Pebbly Barn Farm as your base, fab, far-reaching views are a given, as is a warm welcome into a peaceful retreat where well-behaved dogs are welcomed on leads and adventures in the Cotswolds are within easy reach… Once you’ve pitched up your tent in the roomy fields here, set off on the walking and cycling trails in the surrounding area (some of them begin very close by). You could make off to Moreton-in-Marsh's antique emporiums, tearooms, art galleries and delis, half an hour’s walk away, or time your visit right for the town’s Tuesday open-air market. With the Four Shire Stone on the outskirts of the town, another option is standing in the old meeting point of the four counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire (cool, huh?) There's also plenty of scope for tasty dinnertimes, with cafés, restaurants and pubs (including a couple rumoured to be past haunts of the author J.R.R. Tolkien) on the town high street and barbecues permitted on site (on a proper stand to protect the grass). The famed Diddly Squat Farm Shop is also 15 minutes' drive away. As for when the sun goes down, there are firepits for hire on site. The facilities here include toilets, showers and a handy dishwashing area, all close to the peaceful pitches. And though it may be rural, you won't be cut off here as Moreton-in-Marsh’s train station has routes to London and Cheltenham, and bus services go to many Cotswold towns and villages.

What customers say

This roomy, tidy campsite is super quiet with clean, modern washrooms and dishwashing stations. Guests love picking their own spots and the owners are really friendly and helpful. It's a fantastic launchpad for exploring the Cotswolds, with dog-friendly trails on-site. A few folks thought more showers/toilets were needed during busy periods.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked We loved the whole feel of this relaxed site. The setting was beautiful with rolling countryside all around, you can choose where you want to camp and the staff were so friendly and hardworking, they were keeping the facilities clean from morning til night!
Lovely loos and showers (as well as the temporary ones in little huts) with well organised washing and waste areas. We'll definitely be returning.

Disliked Nothing.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review, Lucy!

We're delighted you enjoyed the warm welcome at the gate and appreciated the freedom to choose your own pitch. Having the flexibility to pick the spot that suits you best is one of the things that makes Pebbly Barn Farm a relaxed and easy-going place to camp.

It's also wonderful to hear you were pleased with the toilets and facilities. We take great pride in keeping them clean, comfortable and well maintained throughout your stay.
Thank you for your recommendation. We really appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you and your family back to Pebbly Barn Farm again soon.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review, Tracy!

We're delighted you enjoyed the spaciousness of the campsite and found our facilities clean and welcoming. We work hard to keep everything well maintained and comfortable, so it's wonderful to hear you felt at home during your stay.

It's also great to hear you appreciated our location and the walk into town. Being surrounded by the Cotswold countryside while still having Moreton-in-Marsh and its shops, cafés and pubs within easy reach makes Pebbly Barn Farm a great base for exploring the area.

Thank you for your helpful feedback about an on-site shop. As a seasonal pop-up campsite, we keep the site deliberately simple and focused on providing spacious pitches, peaceful surroundings and excellent facilities, so we don't currently have a shop on site. We certainly understand how handy it would be to have essentials such as milk available, though, and appreciate the suggestion.

Thank you again for your recommendation. We hope to welcome you back to Pebbly Barn Farm again soon!

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked We loved this campsite as soon as we arrived. Whenever you enter a place that has been genuinely cared for, you can feel it — it feels a little like coming home.

So much thought and care has gone into everything here, from the shower rooms, toilets and washing-up area to the grounds and the land itself. It’s a beautiful, peaceful and very well looked-after place.

We would definitely stay here again if we return to the Cotswolds in the future. Highly recommended!

Liked Facilities were very well maintained
John very welcoming and friendly
Large space so didnt feel crowded even when busy

Disliked Think the cost of hiring the fire pit is a bit steep at £15 and a box of wood thereafter is £10

From the manager: Thank you so much for your honest and thoughtful review!

We're delighted you enjoyed the large amount of space, our well-maintained facilities and the warm welcome. It's particularly pleasing to hear that even when the site was busy, you still felt there was plenty of room and didn't feel crowded, that's exactly the atmosphere we aim to provide.

Thank you also for your feedback about the fire pit and wood pricing. We completely understand that £15 for the fire pit hire which includes a box of logs, and £10 for an extra box of logs can feel like an additional expense, and we really do appreciate you raising it.
The fire pit price includes more than simply providing the equipment. There is considerable work involved in sourcing suitable, dry logs, cutting them to the right size, processing and storing them, as well as preparing and delivering the fire pit, kindling and wood directly to guests' pitches. We also have to account for the time and labour involved in collecting and preparing the timber.
For comparison, local firewood prices can vary considerably depending on the type and quantity. For example, Cotswold Logs currently lists a collection bag of kiln-dried hardwood at £25 for roughly 24 logs, while other local suppliers charge around £8–£9 for individual smaller bags. Our £10 box is therefore intended to provide a convenient, ready-to-use amount of prepared firewood delivered as part of the fire-pit service, rather than simply being a resale of a bag of logs.
That said, we genuinely value your feedback and will continue to review our pricing to make sure it represents good value while covering the considerable time and costs involved.

Thank you again for staying with us and for recommending Pebbly Barn Farm. We hope to welcome you and your family back again soon.

Warm regards,
John & the Pebbly Barn Farm Team

Local attractions

Where can a 10-minute car ride get you? It turns out, a lot of places. There’s the dog-friendly plant centre and café at the 56-acre Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre (10 minutes’ drive), flying displays from falcons, eagles and other birds of prey at the Cotswold Falconry Centre (10 minutes) or the splendid 18th-century gardens at Bourton House Garden (10 minutes). Sezincote House (10 minutes) is another of those close-by spots and a rare authentic Mughal palace with a house and tea room – get there on foot if you wish by following the local Moreton Eight walk near the site. With the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace (half an hour) and the National Trust’s Chastleton House (10 minutes) close by too, there are many more options to have a nose around additional historic buildings. When you’re ready for some animal life, Cotswold Farm Park’s rare breeds, outdoor play and bouncy pillows (20 minutes) are likely to be a hit with the kids, or perhaps a peaceful picnic by the river Windrush in Bourton-on-the-Water (20 minutes) will do, with Birdland the prize attraction here.
