What customers say
Glamping tents at Broadstone Retreat are cozy and well-decorated, with wood stoves for heat. Guests loved the beautiful setting, friendly host, and clean, modern kitchen/bathrooms. Pizza and bar popular. Past issues with cold showers fixed. Some noise from others. Minor rodent burrow concern noted by one guest but not found by management. Fourth bed could be comfier.

Liked Beautiful site, amazing starry skies at night. Lovely to be able to get pizzas and beers at the cafe/bar on site, and have them by the pond. Beds in the glamping tent were comfortable. Good communication from the owners.

Excellent run camp site with lovely staff.
The Fox bell tent
Liked Excellent place to stay. Me and my family loved it inside the fox bell tent, we stayed from the 3rd to the 5th of August.
The views are lovely, the bell tent is spacious and very nicely decorated to give it a warm and cosy feel, I must say the bed is very comfy, which I don't normally find when staying away. I liked that there was ample of little lights inside the tent, and fairy lights, it give off a very nice relaxing vibe at night.
The toilets were lovely, clean and nicely decorated, I seen someone had previously put a comment on saying the water went cold, this problem has now been fixed, and the shower is great.
I was shocked to find the fridge had a ice dispenser, that was a real nice touch and well needed on a hot day. The fridge and freezer is the huge to fit plenty in, also allowing room for other bell tent users.
Everything you need is on the kitchen (bell tent users only) from fire lighter cubes, plates, cups, glasses, and cutlery.
The staff are very welcoming, Emma always got back to us straight away with any questions we had.
The bar had plenty of darft beers to chose from, very enjoyable cold pint. The pizzas are totally beutiful, hats off to the chef. 10/10. Plenty of options for the kids with sweets, milkshakes and i think ice creams were available. The prices were very fair too, especially for the fishing.
The local animals that live on the site are very well looked after, and is nice to see roaming around, local wildlife is also present throughout the stay with dragonflies, buzzards, goshhawks, sparrow hawks, deer if you're lucky enough to see them in the woods.
They have a great fishing pond, the site is very well looked after and extremely clean.
We would love to stay here again soon.
Disliked COMING HOME.

The Bumblebee bell tent
Liked This is beautiful campsite with good facilities and very well situated for exploring the Forest of Dean
Disliked Our stay was sadly ruined by rodent burrows underneath our glamping tent which clearly had not been taken down for and checked for some time. There were numerous animal holes very near to the pitch. We saw a rodent very obviously moving underneath the matting of the tent and making loud chewing noises late in the evening and had to move out of the tent to another thankfully free glamping tent. On further inspection, it was possible to feel that there were clearly many holes underneath the tent. My 2 children were very upset and frightened. The site owner was not able to offer us another alternative for the second night of our stay other than a refund for the 2nd night so our stay was cut short. Very disappointing indeed. Considering the cost of the glamping option especially, this part of the site was clearly rather neglected

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We were very sorry to hear that this experience affected your stay, particularly as you had commented positively on the site and facilities.
As we explained at the time, we are a rural farm and campsite surrounded by countryside, so unfortunately we cannot completely control the presence or sounds of local wildlife.
You contacted us early the following morning, having moved yourselves into another vacant glamping tent during the night. We responded immediately and inspected the original tent, including underneath the base. We found no evidence of the burrows or holes described in your review underneath the tents. These tents are taken down after the summer so do not stay up all year round
Unfortunately, all of our glamping tents were booked for the following night, so we were unable to offer an alternative tent. We also discussed that, given our rural setting, moving tents could not guarantee that wildlife wouldn't be heard nearby. We completely understood that, as this was your children's first experience of camping, hearing animals during the night had made them nervous and they understandably did not want to stay for a second night.
Although you remained on site and continued to use the facilities during the following day, we were happy to refund your second night as a gesture of goodwill because we appreciated that the experience had been upsetting for your family.
We were therefore particularly disappointed to read that the glamping area was described as neglected. Our tents and pitches are regularly maintained and checked, and following your concerns we specifically inspected this area and found no evidence of burrows beneath the tent.
We are sorry that your stay ended earlier than planned, but we do feel we responded promptly and fairly to the concerns raised and did everything reasonably possible to help at the time.

Fab camp site, pizza on site…
The Bumblebee bell tent
Liked Fab camp site, pizza on site was delicious, location was great all in close range to many attractions such as puzzle wood and Symonds Yat rock. There was music on in the evenings for entertainment. Was a good addition having a kitchen with usable fridge.
Disliked The 4th bed is more like a camping chair folded over which isn’t great for an adult. The bathroom seemed to run out of toilet roll we had to supply our own one day.

The Hare bell tent
Liked Great communication, with friendly check-in and great service.
The site is wellmlaid out, with some beautiful lakes full of fish. The bell tent that we stayed in was well positioned and beautifully decorated.
The bed was large and clean, with a plentiful supply of logs for the internal stove and outside chimney. Tea and coffee etc was supplied and only a short walk away in the kitchen room.
Showers and toilets were clean and well kept.
Stunning views from the tent and lake area.
We'll be staying again soon.
