Nice pub
Level pitches throughout the site
The thames head inn, between cirencester and tetbury
There's plenty of greenery around the site

  • Peaceful site on the edge of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds
  • 10 minutes’ drive from the towns of Cirencester and Tetbury
  • In the grounds of the Thames Head Inn bar-restaurant
Stunning landscapes, scenic market towns and the peace and quiet of the Cotswolds… How could you say no to that? At family-friendly site The Thames Head Inn, four miles from Cirencester market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, you definitely won't want to miss the chance. Thames Head is well-placed for exploring the spectacular Cotswolds on foot or by bike – the start of the Thames Path, which follows the world-famous river for 184 miles from source to sea, is half a mile from the site, and there are loads of cycles tours and walking routes starting in Cirencester and Tetbury, both within 10 minutes’ drive of the site. If that's not your scene, kick back on the dog-friendly site in the shade of the trees, soaking in the scenic and peaceful Cotswolds countryside, or take a relaxed stroll through the fields with Rex. Worked up an appetite? The site is in the grounds of the Thames Head Inn bar-restaurant, where food is served well into the evening and the drinks keep flowing until closing (remember to book a table, as mealtimes can get very busy). If you fancy fending for yourself, pick up supplies in Cirencester or Kemble – a 20-minute walk away – and fire up the barbecue. For a change of scenery – and menus – there are plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes of Thames Head.

What customers say

This small, well-kept site near The Thames Head Inn is praised for its good location and the pub's tasty, big portions & friendly service. Pitches are generally level, spacious, with EHU. Good for Cotswolds exploration and walks, but the single toilet/shower is often cited as insufficient when busy, and some mention road noise. Still, many found it perfect for stopovers and plan to return.

Liked The relaxing, friendly, rural small basic site. 12 level pitches available, all with electric hook up.
Clean, and combined shower toilet.
Pub only a few yards from camping area was excellent for it's friendliness and delicious food.

Disliked Only one combined shower/toilet. No facilities for washing dishes etc.
Road behind a bit noisy at times but okay at night. No wifi for campsite.

Powered gravel travel trailer campsite (small)

Liked Well looked after , inn does lovely food .

Disliked As mentioned before by others , the one shower although was hot , could do with the addition of mop and bucket, only one combined toilet shower , when site is full , not really enough.
Road noise is very loud , continuous until about 2am , and trains going past regularly, I overlooked those factors when I was booking
