  • Peaceful family-run Derbyshire farm site alongside the High Peak Trail
  • A 20-minute drive to Bakewell, Ashbourne, Matlock and Carsington Water
  • On-site fishing lake and a small shop serving drinks and snacks
Pottering off to the Peak District in search of a quiet break with trails and historic sites nearby? Minninglow Meadows has just the stay in the Peak District National Park with direct access to the Minninglow car park on the High Peak Trail (a traffic-free route along an old railway line) and views towards the Neolithic burial ground of Minninglow Planting (a 20-minute walk away). Walks are certainly in no short supply here… you’ll be able to walk six miles to Tissington (just over two hours’ walk away), three miles to Parwich or under two miles to Roystone’s old farmstead. Once you’re on the High Peak Trail, you’ll also be able to get to Parsley Hall, Middleton Top and Cromford Canal on foot or bicycle. The site has a small shop where you can stock up on drinks and snacks beforehand or gather local information and maps. When you have a lazier afternoon in mind, there’s also a fishing lake on site (an additional charge applies for this activity). The site is a quiet place, part of a working family-run farm, so it just has simple facilities in the form of eco-friendly composting toilets, hot water showers and a washing-up area. As for off site, there’s a nice situation when it comes to local pubs with several foodie favourites five minutes’ drive away.

Liked: This campsite was lovely. Amazing views and plenty of open space so you can pitch up anywhere. Toilets were cleaned regularly and the small shop was convenient for drinks in the morning and wood for the evening. Would happily go here again

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: First time camping in uk. Great place with friendly host, although we arrive late, we still have good information to get to. Nice shower facilities with hot water and good pressure. Beautiful and clean site. Site is large, plenty of space. Toilet block is clean.

Disliked: The toilet is a bit too high for female.

Liked: Lovely big open field, toilets were changed and cleaned regularly. Kids had so much space to run wild! Would definitely come again. We camped as a huge group of 22 5 tents. 12 children ranging from 4 months to 6 years.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Location, fuss free, scenery, price, facilities. Minninglow offered everything we wanted for our first weekend away in our tentbox. The toilets are really clean and the showers are shabby chic, wild camping with an added bit of luxury.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike about this place.

From the manager: Thanks for the great review we hope to see you and your tent box again soon😁

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Nice simple site with composting toilets and hot gas powered showers with good water pressure. Which is essentially all i need for day to day living. First field you drive in to is reasonably flat and all grass, the field with the facilities and site trailer reception is on more of a hill. Dry stone wall surrounds with a treeline to the bottom near the entrance road. Lovely clear views of the Tissington trail and Minninglow barrow from the top, which can be a little windy. The site is roughly 2.5 miles away a few villages if you would like a pub meal or about 20 mins from Ashbourne for daily goods. Lovely little location, simple but effective away from daily life distractions and very little phone reception. Great little getaway and worth the money

Disliked: nothing
