What customers say
Amazing Peak District views & serene vibes. Guests rave about the welcoming owner, Stephanie, and spotless facilities, especially the showers. Perfect for walks to Castleton & Mam Tor. Some note a need for more toilets during peak times & occasional camper noise.

Lovely place, but best to avoid busy times such as long weekends.
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked - Lovely views if you choose the right spot for your tent.
- Scenic walking path leading to Mam Tor in about 90 minutes.
- Plenty of space for your tent, though the ground can be a bit sloped and you may find some dry sheep droppings on the grass.
- Quiet at night.
Disliked - Very crowded during the late summer long weekend, with long queues for toilets and showers.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked This campsite is great, nice big open fields which you can choose from. The site is really clean and well maintained.
Stephanie is fantastic, friendly, helpful and really kind.
The facilities are limited, but what they have are kept clean and well supplied.
Made good friends with one of the donkeys.
Stephanie told me of a route where I could walk from the site to Mam Tor, which was ideal!
Would absolutely recommend the site to others.
Disliked Some people took a long time in the shower, but that sometimes happens. It’s hardly the end of the world.

Liked Views, location, local walks
Disliked It might just have been because it was a busy bank holiday but the queues for the facilities was always long, but the owners did a great job keeping them clean

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We stayed here for our first camping trip as a family and would highly recommend. The facilities were clean and well stocked with loo roll and fairy liquid etc. The site was relatively quiet and our little girl loved looking at the nearby farm animals.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked This campsite is spacious and peaceful. The host was very accommodating. This was our second visit — we first came in 2023, and since then there have been many great improvements.
More toilets have been added, and there is now a shower as well. The views are beautiful, and there are animals around which make the experience even more enjoyable.
Our only suggestion would be to consider separating the male and female toilets for added convenience. Overall, a wonderful stay — we’ll definitely be back!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We really enjoyed our stay at Sweet Knoll Camping. The location and facilities are great! It got quite busy during the bank holiday weekend, causing short queues for the showers and toilets. Stephanie is very responsive and helpful, even at short notice. The area is beautiful and you are very close to incredible scenery, but you should plan your hiking route in advance to avoid getting lost. We actually decided to extend our stay and would love to stop by another time.

Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Really friendly owner - very welcoming.
Lovely shower and toilet block, one of the best we have come across.
Nice quiet, picturesque site (although it was mid week - I can imagine it gets very busy on weekends and bank holidays).
Disliked Could do with a few more showers as there were only 2 for everyone. Fine when we were there but I guess they'll be a bit of a queue during busy periods!
