  • Small adults-only site at a farm in the Peak District National Park
  • A 15-minute drive from Buxton, the Pennine Way and Monsal Trail
  • Dog-friendly pub five minutes’ walk away; barbecues permitted on site
Planning to explore the Peak District National Park on foot? You’ll be well placed for all manner of rambles when you stay at Fields Farm Campsite, an adults-only pop-up site in a central spot within the national park just outside the rural village of Peak Forest. You’ll be able to get out and walk direct from the door here – perhaps starting with the short trail to Eldon Hole, an impressive sight that’s been dubbed one of the ‘seven wonders of the Peak District’. Lots of other great trails are close by too: the Pennine Way and Monsal Trail are about 15 minutes’ drive away, and places like Mam Tor, Bamford Edge and Kinder Scout are within half an hour. Crucially, it’s also just a short five-minute walk to the pet-friendly local pub, where you can dine on homecooked food or have a drink with your dog at your feet. Adjacent to the owner’s home, the grassy pitches at Fields Farm have scenic views of the countryside – a gorgeous backdrop for your morning coffee or an evening tending your barbecue. To gather supplies for either (and snacks for your hiking bag), there are food shops 10 minutes’ drive away in Chapel-en-le-Frith or 15 minutes away in Buxton. As this is a pop-up site, the facilities are on the simple side – there are no showers or drinking water supplies but you will have access to a proper toilet block.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Being able to park up wherever you liked is definitely an advantage. There was nobody there when we arrived so found our spot which was perfect. There is a male and female toilet and drinking water. Just basic and quiet. Pub next door is a bonus and food is available all day
The field is secure enough to let dogs off without a lead
Lots of lovely walks around the area too.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Spacious field and the option to find your own pitch. It was extremely quiet with only a few others on this occasion. Facilities (toilet block) clean and well maintained. A quick hop over the style takes you to The Derbyshire Arms, which was a lovely pub

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Simple, spacious, great location for what we wanted to do in the Peaks that weekend. No fuss, no frills. Toilet was clean enough to use (no shower but we knew that!)

Disliked The gate was open with the name of the site on it so it took us 10 mins to find the field! Not a biggy but a signpost would be helpful.
