When you’re searching for a no-fuss Bedfordshire stop with some pretty cool family attractions nearby, the small pop-up site at The Royal Oak comes up trumps. Within 15 minutes by car are two major family-friendly Midlands attractions, namely Woburn Safari Park and Gulliver’s Land Theme Park Resort, while Whipsnade Zoo is only half an hour’s drive away. Itself five minutes’ drive from the centre of Woburn Sands, this safe and secure site has private car parking and a coded gate for entry from the pub’s grounds. The well-kept grass pitches all have electric hook-ups and a water supply, and there is a toilet facility as well. Breakfast rolls and hot morning drinks are available for a small fee, and can be ordered when you arrive on site. Otherwise, the pub does a good line in eat-in dishes or takeaways, and there is often live music on the weekends.
