Unpowered grass and earth tent or motorhome site
Liked Great value, great staff, top quality camping pop up. Booked this site last minute with the weather looking good and we weren’t disappointed. Very basic facilities but kept clean and sufficient for a couple nights.
Disliked Not a quiet site. If you’re a light sleeper then noise from the nearby road could be a problem. Also people talking and car moving after 10/11pm. All part of being a more relaxed site but won’t suit all.

Primrose Park unpowered grass and gravel caravan site
Liked Wonderful site that we'll definitely visit again. The owners were friendly and very helpful, including delivering wood for a fire pit to our pitch. Facilities looked new and everything was always very clean. There is a large playing field with playground equipment in both sections of the campsite so can see it would be a brilliant site for families. We loved the peaceful location and beautiful scenery surrounding the site. There's not loads to do in the local area apart from walking and cycling, but it was perfect for a night or two away. Overall this is a campsite done right, reasonable price with well kept facilities and without lots of unnecessary rules!

Unpowered grass campervan site
Liked Amazing views, relaxed environment and would be good for groups.
Disliked We knew this was a basic site from the description but no excuse for not cleaning and restocking the portaloos regularly. The farmer was happy to drive around collecting payment so can’t see why he couldn’t replenish the loo roll at the same time! The field is mostly very unlevel so unless it’s quiet you’re unlikely to find a level spot. pricy for the level of facilities, although fine for a last minute trip when everywhere else is fully booked!

Unpowered grass site
Liked Fantastic facilities and very well run, friendly campsite. Good size pitches that are well set out so you don’t feel like you’re on a bigger site. The pizzas were fantastic too and we were very grateful for the clubhouse on a rainy evening. Great location with a lovely beach within walking distance and a bus stop right outside.
Disliked Drinks prices were on the high side, especially by northern standards!

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site (large)
Liked Quiet and beautiful setting. Very clean facilities with friendly hosts and very well run. We ate at the pub one evening and enjoyed their fantastic food. Perfect campsite to use as a base to explore the area or if passing through to Devon and Cornwall.
Disliked The only suggestion I’d have is to provide a communal freezer for those without electric to re-freeze ice packs.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Beautiful and quiet location, had a feel of wild camping but with portaloos and water supply for some degree of comfort.
Disliked The campsite was hard to find with no signposting from either car park, we only spotted it after driving past. The walk from the car park was further than expected so I'd recommend others travelling light or taking a trolley. Field is next to a river on one side and a road on the other, we found the traffic noise quite loud in the evening but didn't notice it much at night. On the expensive side for the facilities on offer although I'd go back if other campsites in the area were booked up.
