Fully-serviced grass and gravel caravan site
Liked We had a nice evening at Sebastian’s place. He was very welcoming and gave us a good walking route down to the beach. The pitch was lovely and green, lots of space and very private with own water supply and electric. There is a ramshackle feel in places and Sebastian is working hard to make the campsite nice for the summer
Disliked Reception was scruffy. First impressions are important and we would have left had we not paid already. Too expensive compared to cheaper places we have stayed with better facilities

Liked The good thing about owning a camper and having older children is being able to stay in campsites like this out of season, nabbing a beautiful spot by the river. The facilities are super clean with hot water, the location is rural without being remote. Walked into town by the river and had good pub grub and real ales at the Horse and Jockey, and chatted to some of the locals. The dog has really enjoyed pottering around and had a great walk (on lead) on Offa's Dyke. Enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed an extra day
Disliked Nothing to dislike here other than a bit of mud. But it's a farm in the country and it's October 😊

Liked With only a few reviews we took a chance on Castle Copse but very glad we did. The camping site itself was peaceful and quiet with the only sound coming from the rustling trees and the buzzards. Selene gave us a lovely warm welcome to her wonderful home and land. Black Down (National Trust) was just a 15 minute walk away and we spent hours walking the dog around the gorse and through the woods - bliss. The rest of the time was spent building fires and chatting to other people who came and went. If you want fancy shower blocks, washing machines, games rooms forget it. But if you want beautiful rural farmland, good walks, pubs, stars and escape from hustle and bustle, this is the place...and only an hour drive from London.

Liked Lovely rural setting, very peaceful. Full marks for cleanliness and facilities.
Disliked 50p for the shower, only because we don't tend to carry cash around any more, but on the plus side it was a good, long, hot shower.

Liked Loved our rural stay here with our two teenagers. Tina and Julian have worked really hard to make their place comfortable and clean and we made full use of the vegetable and herb patches. It’s a good base for exploring saumur and along the Loire. Highly recommended!
