Liked Could be a perfect little gem.
Really convenient location.
Beautifully quiet.
Loads of space.
Good facilities for number of pitches.
Comedy sheep (especially when they managed to find their way into the camping field and the farm lads had to round them up!)
Grass trimmed to a nice short length.
Disliked I don’t think there was a daily check of the facilities. They still stayed ok because sit was so quiet and because we did the topping up of loo rolls, but basics like bin emptying needed more attention.

Liked Quiet countryside site. Beautiful views. Great place to relax.
Friendly welcome from owner.
Really large pitches, with water taps adjacent to every pitch and 16amp electric (not just 5 amp)
Ground accepted a peg nicely but also held them firmly. No rocks or loose sand!
Grass cut short and well-maintained site. Hedges around the field with natural border, giving good shelter from most of the coastal winds.
Good mobile signal on O2 network.
Lovely clean toilets and showers with loads of hot water.
Useful utility room with freezer,
Dog-friendly but not over-run with dogs! (Separate exercise area)
Disliked Important to be clear that we really enjoyed our time at Ashcroft Farm and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again if travelling to the same area, but I also believe it’s important to be honest in reviews about things that might make the stay less perfect for others or where the owners can improve…
There is only 1 toilet and 1 shower(which includes a toilet) for females and the same again for males. This did mean occasionally having to wait for the facilities… we didn’t find this a problem but it might have been different if we’d had younger children who couldn’t always wait for the toilet….
The showers are push-button with pre-mixed water (no temperature control). Often campsite showers are a bit cold, but we found these a bit too warm… owners could reduce their energy bills by turning the dial down a little!
The approach is via narrow country lanes, so take it steady and don’t be surprised if you need to reverse occasionally!

Power optional grass caravan site
Liked Small site
Great views
Friendly staff
Good location
No cars on main site... safe for kids
Regular litter picks by staff... site was effectively litter-free
Little pub onsite... expensive but nice to be able to grab a pint.
Disliked Hard to find a parking space without blocking access road... felt like about 2-3 more pitches had been squeezed in than there was really space for.
Not enough showers / toilets /sinks... ratios felt wrong. Would have preferred separate facilities for male and female.
CCTV camera pointing straight at sink
Very hard ground... need heavy duty pegs and a weighty hammer!

From the manager: Thank you for your comments, there are 2 over flow car parks signed which you could have used, both within a 2 minute walk of your pitch, both car parks were only half full at the time of your visit. We only struggle with 4 toilets and 2 showers during this busy 2 week period and the rest of the time its fine, adding more facilities would only increase the cost for other campers. CCTV covers the whole site and the camera in question actually points at the washing machine and dryer. Due to the lack of rain this season the ground like the rest of the UK is very hard at the moment, not a great deal I can do about that. We will be reducing the number of pitches for next year.
