Liked Unfortunately, very little. The surrounding area itself is beautiful, but our experience at the campsite was extremely disappointing.
Disliked We were given pitch 53, right next to the bins, EV chargers, passing cars and directly beside the entrance gate, where people were constantly arriving and ringing the intercom to be let in. This meant there was very little peace or privacy. When I asked if we could move, we were told directly that because we had booked through Pitchup they could not make changes to our reservation. This was particularly frustrating as several electric pitches appeared to remain empty during our stay. It left us with the impression that guests booking through Pitchup may be allocated some of the least desirable pitches on the site. We were also only informed the night before arrival that BBQs and fire pits were not allowed, despite having planned our meals around using them. There was no warning from the campsite about the very strong winds and poor weather conditions, which is important safety information for anyone staying in a tent or rooftop tent. The toilet facilities were also in a very poor condition, with dirty toilets and wet, slippery floors. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the pitch allocation, communication, cleanliness and the general standard of our stay.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the beautiful local area, but we are sorry that your stay fell short of your expectations. We would like to address your concerns to offer some clarity on how our site operates. Pitch Allocation & PitchUp Bookings: Like most campsites, we only allocate a specific portion of our inventory to third-party platforms like PitchUp. PitchUp allocates your pitch when you book, not us, and making modifications to it in our own system can cause chaos so we do no do it. During your bank holiday stay, our electric pitches were fully booked. While some pitches may have looked empty, several guests chose to depart early due to the bad weather; we never re-sell pitches in these instances in case guests return. We offered you alternative pitches in a different pitch type when you got here. We wrote to you with this information prior to your arrival. Weather Warnings: Safety is a top priority for us. We sent out a group text message to all guests on site specifically warning of the impending high winds so everyone could secure their setups. BBQs & Fire Pits: As noted on our website, the use of BBQs and fire pits is always subject to weather conditions and national safety guidance regarding open flames. We enforce these restrictions strictly to protect all of our campers during high winds. Cleanliness: Our team works hard to maintain facilities, but the persistent heavy rain over the bank holiday made keeping the toilet floors spotless an ongoing challenge despite frequent cleaning.

Liked Very nice place with really friendly people. We only stayed for one night, but we absolutely loved it. There was a group of people who seemed to stay there quite often, and they were so welcoming and friendly. We felt really comfortable and genuinely like part of the camping family. We would definitely love to come back!
