Llangollen, Denbighshire, Wales
Fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site
Liked Lovely location. Excellent shower/toilet block. Very friendly customer service from Helen (I think). She’s very familiar with the local area so a great one to ask any questions from. Loved the radio playing in the shower block!
It’s about 20-25 mins walk to the centre of Llangollen (gorgeous place). I took a canal barge trip to and over the agueduct. Snacks and cream teas available on board (and a bar!).
Disliked WiFi patchy but if you’re escaping from usual life it’s no problem!

Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England
Power optional gravel caravan site
Liked This is a great little campsite. 20 or so pitches. Very peaceful and within short walks to the river Severn (a few minutes).
The local pub, The Red Lion, is less than 10 minutes walk away with great food and a warm welcome.
Great to see farm animals, including a pot-bellied pig, goats and cattle.
A trip to Frampton-on-Severn (3 miles by road, or 4 if you walk following the river) is recommended. It has Britain’s longest village green with a pub, a village shop and a cricket pitch/clubhouse. The cricket pitch has the shortest boundaries I’ve ever seen so hitting a six must be a frequent occurrence (be ready to catch the ball if sitting outside the pub/shop!).
