Good for a short break visiting Cordoba

Aug 2026

Liked The chalet was clean and functional for a short break. Its main attraction was its location and proximity to Cordoba, just a 30-minute drive into the city brimming with sights to see. We used the site to break up a long journey across Spain and it works as a functional stop over. Wouldn’t want to stay for more than a couple of days. Although staying in a chalet, we checked out the pitches & facilities just in case we want to return and stay in the campervan. The pitches were gravel could be hard to hammer pegs but they offered shade and looked level with water points. The toilet/shower block looked basic from outside but were surprisingly nice inside and cool in 40 degree heat! The spacious pool area offered shade and the water was refreshingly cool. We enjoyed a meal at the on-site café, where the food was delicious and the prices reasonable. With another day, we could have visited Seville, an hour away, but unfortunately, time was short.

Disliked The chalet was quite basic and lacked a kettle and more utensils. We ended up using a lot of our own camping gear.

Good base for visiting Evora

July 2026

Liked The closeness to Evora, we got a taxi for €5. It was chilled out & quiet, pool was great enough sun beds throughout the day. Snack bar was reasonably priced. Check in was smooth and helpful. The ability to pick a pitch was useful as you could pick more shade etc. The toilets / showers were a bit dated but clean & plenty hot water.

Disliked The pitches were different sizes some quite small. It was supposed to be an earth pitch but in reality they were all rock hard almost impossible to hammer in pegs. We paid for an awning but couldn’t put it up! The site itself could do with a bit of a refresh, it’s not particularly looked after. It’s not a pretty site more functional.

Convenient to visit Salamanca by bus or taxi. Decent toilets/showers

July 2026

Liked The facilities and proximity to the city are fantastic. A €1.75 bus ride into town takes about 35 minutes while a taxi back was €12 & takes around 10 minutes. Check-in was easy with helpful information about the site and buses. We could pitch anywhere so we had a choice of where to go. There are plenty of pitches available in various sizes. The reception was very helpful throughout our stay, booking a restaurant in town and providing information. The site bar was reasonably priced. The pool is large and shared with the attached hotel. There are limited sunbeds but a large grassy area for towels if needed. The kids loved the basketball and football pitches and there’s also a small playground more suited for under-10s. Salamanca is a beautiful city with gorgeous buildings and architecture that’s definitely worth a visit. The square is magical when lit up at night. It’s also very reasonably priced for a city and plaza location. A glass of wine costs around €4 here, which is cheap compared to most other cities.

Disliked We booked an electric grass pitch but it was completely devoid of grass and vegetation like trees for shade. This made it uncomfortable in the height of summer and the high temperatures. It resembled a dusty car park and the hard pitch surface made it difficult to use pegs. Not the fault wasn’t the site but the local fiesta was very loud & unsociable. Starting at around 10pm until 4am and lasting for three or four days, it was incredibly loud and difficult to sleep, I’m sure it went louder at 1am, you could hear people shouting over the music! We left a day early which was disappointing as we had planned another visit to the city.

We could pitch anywhere, our pitch…

July 2026

Liked We could pitch anywhere, our pitch was a good size & shady. Bar on site was reasonably priced, €6-€7 for wine/beers with soft drinks! The toilets/showers were clean & no push buttons so lovely hot shower without having to keep pressing every 30 seconds! Good wash up facilities. Large pool & playarea.

Disliked Some of the pitches were quite small and very shady. Not a problem for us but could be for larger vehicles.
