We had a lovely, peaceful stay…

Sept 2026

Liked We had a lovely, peaceful stay at Bromptons Farm. The owners were really friendly and welcoming, which always makes such a difference when arriving somewhere new. The site is very basic and rustic, but that’s part of its charm if you’re looking for somewhere quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. The pitches are lovely and spacious, with plenty of room to set up however you like, and the facilities were clean and well maintained. There are lots of cats around the farm, and we had noticed there was some animal mess around our pitch, so something to be aware of when visiting with dogs. Overall, a very quiet and relaxing spot with friendly owners and plenty of space. A good option if you’re looking for a simple, no-frills countryside getaway. 🚐🐾

We had a fabulous, relaxing weekend…

Aug 2026

Liked We had a fabulous, relaxing weekend at Kings Forest Caravan Park for our third official motorhome adventure! 🚐 The site was clean, well-maintained and very dog-friendly, with miles of lovely walks to enjoy with Bruno. The facilities were great, including shared toilets, same-sex shower rooms, additional individual showers, a washing-up sink, grey waste disposal and a chemical toilet disposal point. There's a Tesco just a 15-minute drive away, which was perfect for stocking up on supplies before spending the rest of the weekend relaxing on site. We spent our time walking the dog, playing cards and simply enjoying some much-needed downtime. It was exactly the kind of peaceful weekend away we were looking for. The pitches are particularly well suited to larger motorhomes, which worked well for us. Overall, a lovely site with good facilities, plenty of walks and a relaxed atmosphere. We'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a dog-friendly motorhome getaway and would definitely consider visiting again!

A beautiful, quiet place to unwind and we’d happily return.

Apr 2026

Liked We had a lovely relaxing stay at Rectory Farm Fishing and Camping Site in Hingham. Although the bar wasn’t open during our visit, it didn’t take away from our experience at all. The peaceful surroundings, beautiful countryside and laid-back atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind. We enjoyed plenty of lovely walks with the dog, taking in the fresh air and exploring the area. It’s a great spot for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy some quiet time surrounded by nature. The site had a really welcoming feel, and we appreciated the chance to slow down and simply relax. We would happily return and look forward to visiting again, hopefully when the bar is open next time!

lovely little site with a welcoming atmosphere we’d definitely return.

Apr 2026

Liked We decided to book The Cider Farm Fishery because it was close to home and we’d only had our motorhome for a week, so we wanted somewhere convenient for a first test trip. Our motorhome is an 8ft-long twin axle, and although this is quite a small site, they accommodated us with no issues at all and made us feel very welcome. The owner was incredibly friendly and always around if you needed any help, which was really reassuring as new motorhome owners. Don’t be put off by the “pop-up” toilet and shower setup — they may be housed in what looks like a portaloo unit, but they were honestly probably the poshest pop-up facilities we’ve seen! Both were fully plumbed in and cleaned twice a day. Just remember to bring your dry robe/dressing gown for the short walk back! The whole site had a really chilled, relaxed atmosphere. There’s not really anywhere you can walk to directly from the site, but we were perfectly happy staying put and enjoying the peace and quiet with our 10month old Rottie. If you do need anything, there’s a supermarket only about a 10-minute drive away.

Disliked Potentially limited shower / toilets in peak times

On arrival, our first impression of…

June 2025

Liked On arrival, our first impression of Littleton Retreat was that it’s a small site, but pleasant – the pitches were surprisingly spacious, allowing plenty of room to set up without feeling cramped ( Large Tent/Gazebo/Large Car). Unfortunately, that’s about as far as our experience went. While pitching the tent, we were informed that there was a problem with the boiler, meaning the site currently had no hot water. This was a significant issue for us, and had we known in advance, we wouldn’t have booked or would have cancelled prior to arrival. To be fair, after a conversation the site owner was understanding and did offer a full refund without hesitation, which we appreciated. However, it would have made a big difference to have been notified of the situation ahead of time – a simple message or email would have saved us the time, effort, and inconvenience of setting up only to pack up again. Overall, the site itself showed promise, but the lack of communication about such an important amenity really let the experience down

From the manager: Hi thanks for your review, sorry you didn’t stay with us and have a good experience, we did inform you about the shower as soon as we could, unfortunately the situation of the boiler breaking down was out of our control, also we gave you a full refund due to this situation as you said you couldn’t stay without showers, which is understandable, sometimes things are out of our control but get rectified as soon as possible, thanks ady.

A peaceful, friendly, and beautifully located site!

June 2025

Liked We had a fantastic stay at Shaftesbury Country Touring Park and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-equipped countryside escape. From the moment we arrived, the site managers were incredibly friendly, helpful, and full of useful information. It was reassuring to know they were always around and happy to assist with anything we needed. Our spacious pitch was perfectly located in the meadow, which offered beautiful views and a real sense of tranquility. We were lucky enough to be there during a quiet week, so at times it felt like we had the entire meadow to ourselves — such a treat! Right by our tent, we had access to electric hook-up and a water tap, which made everything super convenient. A lovely surprise was the little fishing lake at the top of the meadow — a peaceful spot that added even more charm to the site. The toilet and shower block, while a little tired in appearance, was kept very clean. The showers were always hot, though we did find that having a push-button rather than adjustable controls made them a bit less convenient as it meant you couldn’t choose the temp of your shower — a minor point, if you like your water HOT! There was also a washing machine and tumble dryer available for £5, which was handy. Onsite, there’s a small petrol station with limited supplies, but it was perfect for grabbing a quick ice cream. And with both a Lidl and Tesco just a five-minute drive away, stocking up on essentials was a breeze. All in all, a peaceful, friendly, and beautifully located site with great amenities and thoughtful touches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return!

A fantastic site, great location, excellent service, clean amenities

June 2025

Liked We had a lovely stay at Cardinney Caravan and Camping Park! The site is exceptionally well-maintained, with spotlessly clean facilities that made our stay very comfortable. The pitches are generously sized, giving everyone plenty of space and a real sense of privacy. We also appreciated the small on-site shop, which was perfect for grabbing any essentials we’d forgotten. Another handy feature was the covered washing-up area — especially useful in the unpredictable Cornish weather! What really stood out, though, was the friendly and helpful staff. They were always on hand with a smile and great local recommendations, which really added to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Disliked The only small downside was the push-button showers, which need pressing every 20 seconds or so to keep the water flowing. It’s a minor inconvenience, but combined with the fact that it could get a bit chilly in the shower area, it might be worth bringing a warm towel or robe for after your shower.

June 2025

Liked The site is set on a beautiful setting, good size pitches, access to water and electric at each pitch, shower blocks were clean with a large pot wash area. The Barn hosted many different offerings which was lovely to walk around and try the local produce (farm shop/butchers/bakers/treatments/jeweller's/various different stalls ) Didnt try the cafe but heard great things. NB. I would suggest avoiding pitching closest to the barn as this become very busy and noisy especially on the weekend

Disliked Arrival instruction would have been helpful, but it was a phone call away and we were greeted with a polite response. On our last night, a lot of noise from a group in the tepees, music playing and shouting until 0100 - did contact the phone numbers provided but had no response or acknowledgment
