Powered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Loved the farm shop and cafe on site and the greeting from the owners on arrival was super friendly and helpful. Also really enjoyed sitting and watching the wildlife around the site.
Disliked Would have preferred that the toilets and shower room were for the sole use of the campsite, as due to an event being held at the same time, and with the general public able to use the same toilet facilities, it did make it feel as though you could only use the facilities once the site had closed to the general public.

Wildlife unpowered grass site
Liked We camped in the Wildlife area and loved the freedom of selecting our own space in which to pitch up. We were also very fortunate that while the electric pitches were busy, the wildlife area camping field was quiet, so there was no one encroaching on anyone else’s space. Additionally, the showers were some of the best I’ve used on any campsite, particularly a site like this that offers as close to a “wild camping” experience as possible. It’s our new favourite site and we’ll be sure to come back in future!

Powered grass caravan site
Liked Quiet little site on a working stables.
The hosts were friendly and welcoming.
The bathroom facilities were great, just as if you were at home.
The site is remote, a good hours walk away from Sheriff Hutton where you will find The Highwayman pub which has good food.
We only had a two night stay, but I’d assume you could find other walks in the area if you were staying for longer. Alternatively it is only a short drive to Castle Howard or into York.

Liked What a gem of a little site.
Fantastic host. So friendly and helpful.
The site was quiet and you could sit and listen to birdsong at dawn and dusk.
The nearest pub is approximately a 45 minute walk away, but has great views over the Humber estuary. Food was good and plenty of options for all tastes.
The facilities were basic but good. The showers in particular were fantastic. Proper electric showers, no push buttons!
We walked to Spurn Head during our stay. It was a very long walk there and back (broken up with a pub stop of course!), but we were able to see some fantastic wildlife during the walk.
Would highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet, out of the way small site.

Power optional concrete and grass site
Liked The views! The views from the touring pitches were stunning.
The hosts were absolutely lovely. They were having some challenges with the electricity to site on our arrival, and they bent over backwards to ensure those arriving had everything they needed, including dashing out to buy everyone bottled water! We couldn’t have asked more of them.
Listening to the lambs and horses on site was a joy and we saw a variety of wildlife on our walk to and from Lawkland (Visiting the Courtyard Dairy and Rind are a must!).
The facilities on site were second to none. The nicest toilet and shower facilities I’ve ever seen on a campsite.
Not a dislike, but just be warned that due to the sites position and elevation the site can get a little gusty!
I’d return in a heartbeat.

Power optional grass motorhome site
Liked Lovely quiet site with gorgeous views and a super friendly host.
Nice pub with good food a short walk away, but very popular. Best to book if you intend to eat out during your stay.
On site facilities basic but completely serviceable.
Loved being able to buy local eggs and bacon from the honesty box.
We found a nice shortish walk from the campsite, and believe there were a few others if you were staying longer.

Powered concrete slab caravan site
Liked Warm welcome from host on arrival, facilities (washrooms, toilets, washing up area, motorhome service point) all great. Particularly liked the music playing in the washrooms which made overnight visits much more bearable! Hard-standing pitch was great and liked the landscaping between pitches which gave a little more privacy. Walk to Polstead was very nice. Walking boots and clothing advised during these wetter months. Thank you for a very nice stay!
Disliked Nothing to dislike
