Safari tent (open balcony)
Liked For France the pitch size was good and very secluded, the showers were generally clean and always hot. On arrival reception was very helpful and explained about various things including the food truck that comes daily. The beach location is amazing although the sea is freezing! Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great for July/August so we didn’t venture in like we were hoping to!
Disliked The smell of the safari tent!! After a few nights we couldn’t bare the nasty, damp tent smell. The bed was comfy but always so cold and damp, made the pillow freezing cold too. I actually felt like the smell was making it hard to breathe at night, making me feel quite ill, there was obvious mould all inside the tent too. Fortunately we came in our campervan so decided to stay in there instead, far more pleasant. A huge shame as otherwise the safari tent would have been lovely.
French guests were very loud at night, often kids screaming and adults socialising into the early hours of the morning. Although it also meant they were quiet until 9am ish! It would be good to have a quiet hours time frame like a lot of sites do, even if not everyone follows it!!
Could also do with cutting the hedges back more and mowing closer to them, having long grass with stinging nettles under the picnic bench is not great and actually made it unusable.

Liked Lovely pitches, ours was very spacious although some were smaller. Very friendly and helpful on reception with excellent English. Only stayed one night but will be back if in the area. Great location for the American Memorial site.

The Burford shepherd's hut (no pets)
Liked Worth every penny! So relaxing, beautifully decorated and everything you could possibly need. Hot tub was awesome too!
Disliked An extra sign at the Farm entrance to send you further down the road. We ended up in the farm and a tad confused!!

Liked Very friendly and quirky site. So quiet and peaceful. Good size pitches with options of being in the sun or shade.
Disliked Location was a little hard to find as the sign is small, but it is at the back of the car park.

From the manager: Thank you Karl for your comment and your remark on the signage of the campsite. We will take this into account in the improvements we need to make. Looking forward to welcoming you again. Cordially

Liked Location to wildlife on the water and the station. Really quiet and relaxing. Very friendly and helpful owners. Value for money is excellent but I guess that’s why you have the dislikes.
Disliked Felt like a squashed in European airre, very close together and due to the layout we weren’t able to put out an awning as other vehicles wouldn’t get past. We were so close that the next door cigarette smoke wafted into our Motorhome constantly, not pleasant. A little concerned if there was a fire as I think we would have all been up in flames!

Liked Nice pitches, open space and very quiet. Lovely friendly welcome and helpful. Would highly recommend if you are in a tent/car.
Disliked The main road into the site was quite overgrown in spots giving a lot of scratches down the sides of the Moho, not campsites fault at all, I assume it’s the council who need to cut back hedges. Shame as it’s a lovely spot when you get there.

Liked Very tidy and clearly designed pitches. Staff were very friendly. Felt Covid safe esp in own motorhome.
Disliked Noise although you get used to it! Fully serviced pitches are fantastic and very level, but quite tight to turn into in a Motorhome without going on the grass.

Liked So quiet, tidy and the park next door is beautiful. Massive pitches and felt really private. Really helpful that you can arrive at anytime and clearly laid out which pitch is yours. Didn’t use facilities as Covid free. Lovely walk and coffee shop at the park and a super fish n chips on the way in from Finch. We will definitely be coming again even though it’s only 8 miles from home we felt like we had a full on holiday. Loved it!
Disliked The barrier only goes up with a key fob, which I had just put through the letterbox on our departure!! Another camper camp to our rescue. A warning sign would be helpful.

Liked British receptionist was excellent and very helpful when our motorhome wouldn’t fit in pitch (even though pre asked for a larger pitch!) Pitches were level and quite secluded.
Disliked Poor signage around site, given a small b/w map which was impossible to read and didn’t tell you where service points etc were. All entertainment and kids clubs in French. Very load music until gone midnight every night.

Liked Had a great few days at this campsite with the kids, the staff were very helpful and even opened the barrier earlier for us so that we could go out. On the last night one very obnoxious family decided to play music very loudly, I phoned the warden and they immediately dealt with the situation even though it was before the quiet night curfew. Facilities were always clean and very well laid out pitches.
Disliked Narrow roads going around the campsite, these could do with being wider so that 2 cars can pass easily and so that you can turn around without having to risk going onto a pitch and getting a tent peg in your tyre.
