Power optional grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked Clean facilities Nice wardens Good location
The site is a converted back garden field.
It's is small and quite compact but actually the bathrooms and showers were always available even though there was only one shower in the women's bathroom.
Can park your car next to the tent.
An hour walk into central Cheltenham.

Unpowered grass site
Liked Clean bathroom although only one female loo and one male loo and shared shower. However as there are not many campers it was not a problem in the slightest.
Lovely owner who was really helpful and friendly.
Quiet area.

From the manager: Thanks for your review. The campsite on the campsite has one ladies toilet, one shared shower, two gents toilets and 2 urinals. There are more toilets: one ladies and 2 gents and 2 urinals near the chemical waste point.

Unpowered grass site
Liked Really clean and good shower facilities.
Nice fields - easy to pitch tent , not sloped.
Quiet and easy going camp site.
Lovely breakfasts and farm shop. Huge and great value for money.
Bike hire and fire pit hire.
Other campsites nearer the sea were all really busy and looked over crowded. Although you had to drive from here to the sea it was so much more chilled.
Nice staff. Helpful
Disliked Nothing really.

When we arrived reception was closed but a map had kindly been left for us which gave us all the information we required.

Preston, Lancashire, England
Family non-electric grass tent pitch (2 adults and 4 children)
Liked Fairly food amenities, although needed cleaning.
Disliked The campsite has potential but seems to be uncared for in general. The entrance was not welcoming, and the plot of land for tent pitches looked like it had not been tended to for a long time. Dirty portaloos for the tent pitchers. Close to the motorway. Not somewhere I'd look to stay again. Our most expensive campsite but unfortunately the worst.

From the manager: Hi, Thanks for taking the time to review your stay. We always appreciate honest feedback positive or otherwise. Sorry to hear you didn't have a good time on this occasion. The tents are something we only do for a few days over the summer (due to planning restrictions we're only allowed 28 days max). Our main business is the Pods really - which as you can see we get fantastic reviews for. If we do offer tent camping again next year, we'll certainly look in to a higher spec of loos (they were cleaned several times daily and are fully serviced once per week), but apologies if, on this occasion, they weren't up to standard. We do also have 7 other non-portaloo toilets on site available for all campers to use 24hrs per day. The grass is also cut by our farm tractors on a regular basis. The entrance isn't something anybody has mentioned before, but we'll look in to some plants to smarten it up a little. The motorway, again, nobody has mentioned before, most tend to say they can't hear a thing as it's a fair distance away and comment on the peacefulness and quiet of the site, but apologies if traffic noise did disturb your stay. The rate for tents (£25 for a family of up to 6 sharing) is slightly more than some other sites, this is because it includes free teas, coffees, hot chocolates and free fishing (on it's own worth around £20 per day). It's also because of the main Lodge facility, lovely lakeside setting, good reputation (and a demand than far outstrips the supply we have). Again we're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay on this occasion and thank you for your feedback - Alex
