Liked Excellent location for visiting Burgos, set in amongst trees next to a park and river. Good size pitches, clean facilities, decent bar and restaurant. Shop selling bread and basic groceries. Helpful staff. We had to stay an extra night as we had mechanical problems with our van and there are far worse places to be stuck!
Disliked Shower blocks were a bit tired but at least plenty of them and clean.

Liked Nice location, close to plenty of lovely countryside
Had a nice meal in the onsite restaurant
Showers are good.
Disliked This was described as a luxury motor home site but there is nothing luxury about it. It’s a very scruffy and run down looking caravan site, the motor home area is separate from the main site and is a little way down the road it looked very run down and full of weeds. We drove in there and straight out again as i didn’t believe it could be the ‘luxury’ site I’d booked. All the facilities are at the main site, nothing in the motor home area. We got a pitch on the caravan site which was slightly better but the pitches were very close together so we had people walking right past our van windows. Very noisy with people chatting loudly until after midnight. Staff on reception very unwelcoming.
Big site but only two washing up sinks so often had to queue.
Swimming pool is small and cold.
The showers were nice but there is an extra charge to use them and most sites these days have decent showers so not really anything special.

Liked Easy access to Salamanca, there’s an hourly bus from the campsite to the city centre. Big pitches, had plenty of room. Shower block is a bit dated but perfect adequate and clean.

Liked This is one of the most scenic campsites we’ve stayed in. It’s in a national park and the scenery is just stunning. The campsite itself was very good, lovely swimming pool, small bar, good showers. It’s a small site and was quite quiet when we were there in June so we had masses of room for our pitch. Friendly welcome with lots info available on places to visit in the local area. There’s a pretty little village within easy walking distance with a small store and a restaurant.

Gafanha da Boa Hora, Vagos, Portugal
Powered gravel site
Liked Lovely setting in amongst pine trees. All the facilities were good and clean. Useful little shop and bread can be ordered for the morning. It was a bit too chilly to use the swimming pool but it looked very nice. The nearest beach is within walking distance, the walk itself is rather uninspiring but the beach itself was well worth it. Easy driving distance to Aveiro which is a beautiful town. Site was very quiet and peaceful in spite of being quite big.
Disliked Some traffic noise. Ground very hard for tent pegs but that’s obviously not something they can change, just make sure you have a mallet!

Ribadeo, Lugo, Spain
Power optional grass and gravel caravan site
Liked Lovely remote location, though still within easy reach of the coast. Quiet with few other campers. Very scenic. Only stayed 2 of the three nights we booked but that was because of the miserable weather not a reflection on the campsite.
EHU is available, pay on arrival.
Disliked Showers basic and water didn’t drain away very well so the floor got very wet.
Very steep slope out of site which was slippy in the wet weather.

Liked Liked pretty much everything. Exceptionally clean showers and toilets with staff on duty all day. Had a beautiful view of the mountains from our pitch. Easy walk to a lovely beach (exit out of the back of the campsite). Ate in the onsite restaurant one evening, handy but not amazing, saved us from having to seek out an open supermarket after arriving on the Sunday morning ferry from Santander. Swimming pool looked nice but weather a bit too chilly to try it out. Nearby towns of Comillas and Llanes bother well worth visiting

Liked Lovely location, right by a beautiful beach (saw dolphins passing by). Restaurant very good. The pitches with sea views are quite compact but we chose one a bit further back and had plenty of room. Walking distance from the town. Women’s shower block was very clean. Would definitely return.
Disliked Leak in men’s toilets and floor was partially flooded. If it hadn’t have been for that it would have been perfect.

Liked Everything. One of the best sites we’ve stayed on. The riverside location is idyllic, we pitched right beside the river, it’s very peaceful and scenic, saw kingfishers and a hoopoe along with plenty of other birds. All the facilities were great, very nice showers, there was a canoe, board games, a fridge, microwave etc. Shaun does an excellent job keeping the site looking good and delivers bread in the morning as well. It’s quite remote but surrounding countryside is lovely.

Montolieu, Aude, France
Power optional grass site
Liked All very good, warm welcome on arrival, nice sized pitch, good clean shower and toilet facilities, it’s a very small site, and wasn’t at all full when we were there. We’d had quite a long drive with no chance to visit a supermarket en route so the on site cafe was very welcome. Absolutely loved the little town of Montolieu, very quirky with lots of antiquarian and second hand bookstores, a few little bars and restaurants, a museum and art exhibition. Carcassonne was half an hour drive away.
Disliked Could have done without the thunderstorm!

Liked Well maintained attractive site with nice big pitches. Lots of trees, nice friendly welcome, lovely swimming pool. Bread and croissants can be ordered at reception. Location good with Bayonne and Biarritz both within easy driving distance, as are several nice beaches.
Disliked Although kept nice and clean the shower/toilet block was rather out of date. Shower cubicles small, lack of hooks, no toilet seats. Washing up sinks didn’t have much space for putting dishes at either side. Push button to operate taps is fine for showers but on washing up sinks you had to push the button multiple times to get enough water to fill the washing up bowl which was very tedious. There were no hooks at all in the toilet cubicles which was annoying because as there were no hand dryers you had to take your own towel but then had no where to put it as the sinks for hand washing were round the other side of the block. Shame as the rest of the site was quite all very nice but let down by the sanitary block.

From the manager: Thank you Mrs DUNNETT for taking the time to write a comment about your stay at the campsite. As far as the sanitary block is concerned, as you can see the sanitary block has new shower cubicles (shower and washbasin together like a real bathroom) which were installed this year in addition to the other shower cubicles. Clothes hooks and benches were ordered during the winter, but delivery has been delayed. We should receive them next week. We look forward to seeing you again.

Liked Just about everything! Very good facilities, lovely views of the sunset over the estuary, good size pitches. You can walk all the way along the beach into Laredo although it is quite a long walk. Easy distance from other nice beaches and not far from Bilbao.
Disliked Although the pitches are a good size you are quite close to your neighbours.

Liked Very peaceful, good facilities, well placed for visiting Cap Frehel and surrounding area. Nice sized pitches. Walking distance to small town with several restaurants and shops.
Disliked Not really a criticism as it was our choice - we pitched on the far side of the campsite where it was quieter but it did mean quite a long trek to the shower block.

Liked Lovely campsite with good views across the countryside. Very quiet while we stayed so we had loads of room but even if busy the pitches are large so i can’t see it would ever be crowded. Liked Everything: spacious pitches set in a couple of fields surrounded by trees with walks through a forest straight out of the campsite. All the facilities were excellent; good size showers, nice washing up area under cover all kept very clean. Spent four nights here in our camper van and would rate it among the best sites we’ve stayed at. There is a nice looking cafe that serves breakfast but we didn’t try it.
