Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Quiet site.
Disliked Was an enormous empty field - probably 400 metres by 100 metres. We were the only campers one night and the facilities would not be able to cope if the field was full. 2 toilets and 1 tap is not enough.
Although only 2 toilets and no body there the toilets were not clean
All felt a bit isolated.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, I'm sorry you were disappointed with your stay. The large field is what most people like about our site. We like to be able to offer our guests plenty of space without being restricted. We only ever allow a limited number of tents at one time meaning that the field is never full and guests therefore have the enjoyment of this space, regardless of how busy the site is. We therefore have sufficient resources to provide for all our guests at all times, and we adapt the number of toilets we have available depending on occupancy. Our occupancy rates vary from day to day, this is something we cannot control. We stay open all week through the summer, with weekends being our busiest times. We advertise as a back to basics, quiet, rural campsite for those who like to get away from it all, as this is what we are. I am disappointed to hear you found the toilets were not clean as they are cleaned twice a day as a minimum, more often when we are busier. It seems odd that they they were then found to be unclean when you were the only guests present at the time.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site
Liked Location. Fantastic views.
Disliked Absolutely no welcome, no signage, no warden or indication of where to ask for assistance. If you did not have a booking you would have no idea how to pay or where you could camp.
Toilets needed a thorough clean. Bins overflowing and toilet rolls on the floor.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Amazing site with the best views to wake up to. Be aware the facilities are very basic but you won’t be staying there for the facilities!!
Disliked We were more than happy to pay the requested pitch fee but the fee was more than is charged at other local sites with better facilities.

From the manager: Thank you for your comments. We have never advertised that we have any facilities, other than the basic essentials. So potential customers can make an informed decision before booking. The price reflects the fact you are in a unique, glorious setting and have a tremendous amount of space between your neighbors. Some pitches are so close to the sea you are practically at one with it. You can not put a price on that. If you feel hairdryers, flushing toilets, hot showers, washing up areas and WiFi are vital to your holiday, this is not the place to stay. In are local area, there other fantastic sites that can offer these amenities. What they may not offer is the chance to immerse yourself in a quiet, wild coastal setting.👍
