Disliked: Its right next to a A419 so loads of road and traffic noise 24/7
Don't attempt to drive a motorhome in that area.

Upon arriving we were given a plan of the site with our number circled in pen. This turned out to be what is known as the top field. It was a very long downhill walk to the facilities and what seemed like an even longer one back up. We couldn't have been further away from the amenities in spite of the fact that there were empty pitches much nearer throughout our short stay. The site had a very miserable atmosphere. We were unable to reach any of the local attractions due to narrow roads and parking restrictions. The bus service was terrible. We decided to cut our visit short and were glad to leave the place behind even though we had paid for another night.

Liked: Warm welcome at reception, clear pitching instructions. Clearly marked pitches. Fenced football area for children, picnic benches nearby to watch children playing. Very clean facilities. Fenced dog walk on upper field.
Disliked: Tight access roads on lower field. Lots of obstacles at sides of roads, ie bollards, fencing, bushes, trees etc. Made access difficult for larger units. As the greenery grows it will get worse. Disliked the many seasonal tourers, too much detritus left around these pitches which made it look unsightly. Site very hilly. Access onto the main road is steep. You will ground the rear steadies even at slow speed. There is noticeable road noise from the overhead bridge of a dual carriageway close by.

Liked: The staff here are wonderful. The site was always clean including the facilities! The toilets/showers were heated, even late at night which was lovely. We had a problem with our caravan (very first trip in it as first timers) and the staff helped us get sorted.

Liked: Nice and open with a small bush edge for separation, clean shower block friendly and helpful staff. Well kept grounds shop small but for the odd thing not bad. Helpful maps of walks in the area all starting fron site and could combine 2 to make longer walk passed local pubs 👍

We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay with is at Mayfield Park.
Firstly most importantly is to come and talk to us in reception and we will do our upmost to ensure your stay is a happy one.
We always ask our guests if they have any special requests i.e. need to be close to facilities, should you have mentioned this on arrival we could have shown you the map or you could have had a walk round and chosen an available pitch to suit your needs.
As for the narrow roads you mention I'm afraid that is beyond our control and what the Cotswold's is all about, beautiful, pretty villages to explore.
We are very fortunate to have a bus stop two minutes walk from the Park with hourly buses which take you to Cirencester, Cheltenham, Swindon etc and many other places. We have bus timetables available in reception for visitors to take free of charge along with lots of local information including taxi numbers, restaurants, shops, fuel stations etc We also have a selection of maps and walks direct from the park available free of charge. a much larger selection being in our well stocked information room.
Again we are sorry to read your comments as if you had come and spoken to us I'm sure we could have turned your stay into a very enjoyable one with happy memories made.
