Brilliant location close to a small beach. Excellent shop with cold drinks and nice snacks. Staff friendly and helpful.

    Disliked:

Only a couple of toilets and showers and having to pay for the showers. For the price of the pitches these should definitely be freely available. Who even has coins to use in a shower these days anyway?!
Wind was super strong so we had to bail early, but it would have been lovely if the weather had been on our side.

We stayed in a campervan in a small field next to the Hall. The camping amentities, toilets and showers, were spotless and cleaned constantly. The single rail train track running next to the hall did not bother us re noise and we loved it, taking the coastal rail route for nights out in Machynlleth and Barmouth. We enjoyed the tasteful cafe open in the hall all day - great coffee and wifi - and the bar nights with live music, a singer/guitarist.
The scenery is stunning as good as north Wales gets and there's a well stocked village shop.

    Disliked:

Wifi for campers, as well as in the Hall, would be a real draw for everyone, including families and is appropriate given the standard of this site and the price point.

Very well put together site, great farm shop and coffee shop / bar -
The owners also own the local shop, again this is a few mins walk but very well stocked.
Really nice site well kept, great for getting the train to Barmouth etc.
    Nice Views
    Staff very helpful
Toilets / showers kept very clean

    Disliked:

Only 2 male toilets / 2 female toilets and showers, which could be a problem - you did have to wait, or someone was always waiting.

Need more electric hook ups, and the bad weather needs hard standing for heavier vehicles as ours bogged down :-(, however the owner pulled our van out and could of been more helpful.

Showers you had to pay by coins (Who has coins today!) perhaps adding £2 to your bill you could get a token?

The entrance can be a bit tricky with a wide vehicle / caravan off the main road so be careful.

The Cafe/farm shop is nice and is only a short stroll from the beach.
The train station is 5 mins away and is the perfect way of getting around, not expensive but make sure you use the app for cheapest tickets.
Don't worry about the noise from the trains, two an hour and stop at 10.30pm.
But make sure you ask what oitch you have before booking.
Take the 10.30 Bus out side the site to Fairbourne, walk to the harbour and get the ferry across to Barmouth and have a fun day and then the train back.
Be aware sometimes you need to let the guard know you want to stop.

I waited over a week to post my reveiw as i waited to hear back from the site.
When we left, i did speak to reception about some things and was just met with ok then, i could see she wasn't interested. I did email the site and would have expected some form of response. I did say that while they advertise a maximum pitch of 8mx8m, they should also tell people what they will actually get as if known wouldn't have booked.
We had the choice of either pitching in the inner grass yard in front of the Tables/beer garden for the cafe/Pub or in front of the toilet block.
We chose pitch 7 Toilet block which is really not suitable for a pitch, my camper is small and only just fitted on the pitch and previous reveiws have stated this is not an ideal pitch.
The lack of toilets on site leads to people waiting outside and also the hand dyers are like jet engines, not ideal in the early hours when someone goes.
If i had know in advance, we wouldn't have booked and i do feel cheated by the fact we had to pay full price, they should be making people aware of the pitch in advance and maybe offer a discounted price.A bit like a concert ticket when it has a restricted veiw.

Not all the locks work on the doors(reported in other reveiws)
Frosted glass is usless as gives no privacy when lights are on.
Two male and Two Female toilets on site is inadequate for the site and only four showers.
No hot water to was hands in block 1 but in the portacabin, hot water but no hand drying.
Obessed by recycling but bins are inadequate and overflow.

I just feel the site have tried to maximise on income over quality and i feel the campers are subsidising all of the new shop/cafe bar when the immediate thing that needs attention is the site facilities. It's kind of like having a swimming pool open at a hotel before the hotel is finished.

We left a day early due to a few things, while the weather was poor that day, if we had been on a suitable pitch and away from the glamping pod we would have stayed.
If i have a complaint at work, my response is that if we don't know we are doing it wrong, we can't fix it.
Looking at other reveiws, there are plenty of postives from people but also plenty of negatives which the site seem to ignore which is a shame as there is potential here.
Luckily this wasn't my main holiday but it could be someones so i hope the site take note.
My reveiw would have been a 6/10 but due to lack of acknowledment a 4/10

Hendre Hall has grown beautifully over the years we’ve been visiting. We loved the cafe and choice of treats and drinks, and popped into the new shop, coffee was perfect - thank you!
Great pitch size and we stocked up in the Hall shop. Hosts are amazing and very helpful and we always enjoy chatting about the recent changes.
