Steel Steeds Motorcycle Campground is a non-traditional campground that's been set up with bikers in mind but welcomes all guests. It's located on the banks of the Susquehanna River two miles south of historic Lewisburg, and is easily reached from Interstate 80, eight miles away.
To save you having to carry loads of kit while you ride, the campground aims to provide much of what you need on site. There are fire rings and picnic tables around the site where you can cook and eat, and you can buy the firewood and ice you need. If you'd like to take advantage of the riverside setting, you can rent fishing poles and canoes.
For relaxing around the campground, there are playfields, a horseshoes pit, a large communal fire ring and a tavern with a pool table.
Clean restrooms have hot showers, hairdryers and towels available to borrow. Other amenities include a laundry room, a bike washing area and a dump station.
There are loads of good rides nearby that can take you to places of interest including musuems, wildlife parks and the 47-mile-long Pine Creek Gorge, Pennsylvania's answer to the Grand Canyon. You've also got lots of wineries around this area; visit independently or let someone else do the driving on an organised tour.
