Most peeps would probably be pleased enough with this site's setting just five kilometres from the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site and city centre of Cáceres. But, there are oh so many other fab features of this splendid Spanish site: the fact that every single pitch has its own amenities block, for one… Each individual pitch at Camping Cáceres has its own block with shower, toilet and wash basin, as well as its own washing-up sink: no queueing here (unless of course your other half is the type who takes an hour in the morning). Among the other splendid additions at this well-maintained and highly handsome site are a fitness area with gym kit; outdoor pools for kids and adults and a bar and restaurant with open terraces and a variety of dishes showing off the local products. There's also a reception and a library, a communal space including a large lounge with tables and chairs, a shop supplying fresh bread, and a launderette with sinks as well as washing and drying machines. And yet more: free wifi is available throughout the site and daily entertainment for kids is organised in the summer months.

Toilets and showers on each pitch are a hit for luxury! Spacious, clean sites, great staff & pool. Ideal for Cáceres, with good bus links. Restaurant's decent value, though some found it pricey or bland. A few updates needed, but reviews are mostly glowing.

Liked Die Stellplätze sind terrassenförmig, durch die breiten Fahrstraßen, sowohl mit Wohnmobil, wie auch Wohnwagen, gut zu erreichen. Der Platz ist trotz der Nähe zur Straße Nachts sehr ruhig. Wie es bei einem Fußballspiel (daneben befindet sich das Fußballstadion) ist, können wir nicht sagen. Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption sind freundlich, hilfsbereit und sehr unkompliziert. Das „persönliche“ Bad zu jedem Stellplatz ist ein absoluter Komfort. Es ist auch einfach, mit dem Fahrrad in das idyllische Örtchen Caceres zu fahren.

Disliked Die Siebe des Bodenablaufs in der Dusche des „persönlichen“ Waschraums müssten täglich, mindestens wöchentlich, gereinigt werden. Bei uns war binnen 1 Minute der ganze Waschraum ein See.

Disliked Saturday night stay - was sold a grass pitch and it ended up being a dusty gravel / dead leaves pitch which meant the dogs were covered in the stuff and we could not put anything outside . Was directed to an area to walk the dogs that was through barbered wire and up stairs covered with broken glass . On the positive side it was nice having your own bathroom facilities but not somewhere I would revisit.

Liked Große Stellplätze, kleines eigenes Bad am Stellplatz. Gute Busverbindungen und sehr preiswert.

Disliked Ein Hinweis, dass der Pool erst im Juni öffnet wäre gut. Einkaufen zu Fuß nicht möglich.

Liked Privacy the pitch offered. The separate bathroom area.

Disliked The tightness of the pitches. Where we were there was a lot of caravans, which made leaving pitch tricky.

Liked Great location if going North and South from Ferry also nearby to park district,
Good pitches with own shower and bathroom very unique and great when in small camper , friendly staff , useful shop but garage and supermarket nearby , good for dog walk and cycling

Liked Muy bien lo de tener baño en cada parcela. Muy bien la atención a la llegada por parte del camping.

Disliked Pero tuvimos que reservar obligatorio 4 noches, cuando sólo necesitábamos 3. Dinero tirado para no quedarnos.

Liked We were given a great pitch. Initially 128 but was tight for us. Moved to 129 which is a corner plot.

It’s massive!

All plots have their own brick bathroom. A great addition with very good water pressure for shower.

Local attractions

If you can drag yourself off site, it's an hour’s walk to the ancient city centre of Cáceres, founded by the Romans and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its ancient walls. There are days' worth of sights to see here among its architecture, churches, museums, festivals and nature reserve; plan for a few trips at least. (If you don't want to walk, buses run to the city every 30 minutes on weekdays and hourly on weekends.) 10 kilometres from Camping Cáceres is the arty Vostell-Malpartida Museum, within another top spot of the region, the Natural monument of Los Barruecos. Cycling and hiking can be had in the San Pedro mountain range 25 kilometres away. A little further afield, make for Montánchez (45 minutes), Mérida (50 minutes) or Plasencia (50 minutes). The Gata mountain range and the Monfrague National Park are 50 minutes' drive away.
