  • Luxury Costa Brava glamping 100 metres from Port Pelegrí beach
  • On the edge of Calella de Palafrugell; Girona 55 minutes’ drive
  • Swimming pool, playground, bar-restaurant and grocery store on site
If your top Costa Brava holiday priorities are lots of fresh air, a good amount of comfort and easy jaunts to the nearest beach, Kampaoh Calella de Palafrugell may be the spot for you. This spacious glampsite sits among mature oaks and pines a few minutes' walk from the sandy beach at Platja del Port Pelegrí – and yes, there is plenty of style and comfort to be had in the accommodation. Set on terraces among the trees, the well-designed tents are all ready for a nicely convenient camping break. Each one is kitted out with beds (bed linen provided and beds made up for arrival) plus various handy furnishings including a hanging rail for your clothes. There’s a small outside space for alfresco dining around the picnic table, and bathrooms are in a smart modern facilities block nearby. This small rural glamping site has a quiet atmosphere that suits family holidays and couples’ breaks, and forms part of a larger site with a collection of facilities including a solar-heated pool complex, a playground, a TV room and a ping-pong table to keep the kids busy. Being on the edge of the pretty fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell means that there are several restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance – but you'll also be able to take it super easy if you like, as the site also has its own grocery store as well as a bar-restaurant specialising in the seafood that’s landed daily down at the harbour.

Local attractions

Calella de Palafrugell is a lovely place to spend a bit of time, with some excellent beaches, well-stocked local markets and activities including watersports, tennis and golf (there are no fewer than five courses to work your way around nearby…) Just outside town, the gardens and 1930s folly of Castell de Cap Roig (five minutes' drive) are worth a visit, with extra incentive in summer when it hosts a jazz festival. This is a great area for walks, too, with the Camí de Ronda trail running along the coast for hikes nearby beaches or places like Llafranc and the Far de Sant Sebastià lighthouse. If that sounds a little too energetic, you might instead like to seek out easy visits to places like Mas Pla (10 minutes), the former home of Catalan author Joseph Pla, or the interactive cork exhibits at Museu del Suro de Catalunya (15 minutes). For a full day out, make your way to Girona (55 minutes) for a circuit of the medieval walls, a stroll through the atmospheric Jewish Quarter and visits to the cathedral and Eiffel Bridge.
