Peaceful, rural and with a spectacularly hilly backdrop, Camping La Tabla de la Yedra in Piedrabuena makes a handy stopover if you’re heading by road to the southern Spanish costas, but this quiet corner of Castilla-La Mancha also really rewards hanging around for a few days to explore properly. You could start by exploring the various facilities at this family-friendly site. A play area has lots of climbing frames and a bouncy castle, and there's extra entertainment for younger guests at the kids' club. You can also cool off in the swimming pool, which is neatly fenced off for safety. Practical needs are all sorted too: the spotless facilities block has disabled access and a parent-and-baby washroom, and catering needs are taken care of at the restaurant. It's a laidback place with late opening hours and a terrace for lazy suppers looking out at views of the foothills – there’s a takeaway service too if you’d rather eat back at your pitch. Getting out into the surroundings is easy too – the site owners run various activities on the Bullaque river nearby, including kayaking and paddleboarding, and can hire out mountain bikes so you can explore the quiet local lanes and former cattle trails. On site you can also take part in archery or laser tag sessions, and try out the climbing wall.

Parcelas sem nenhuma sombra, o lugar não é muito arborizado.

From the manager: La foto que muestra del baño esta limpio de hecho se limpian de noche y por la mañana temprano y tiene un cambio de color por la rexina epoxi que me quemaron con un accido que la pena fue no cogerla con la manos en masa ya que es la segunda vez que nos lo hacen, cualquier persona se da cuenta de que esta limpio y como comprenderá en mitad de temporada no puedo cerrar unos baños para arreglar la abrasión del suelo que me han realizado por segunda vez en dos años. Como les decimos a todo el mundo si ve algo que no esté bien o que necesiten nos lo pueden decir e inmediatamente intentamos solucionarlo. Si de verdad estaban sucio en algun momento, cin que nos hubiera informando hubieramos ido de inmediato a limpiarlo.
El parque de bolas tiene tres años y esta en buenas condiciones, no sabemos a que se refiere con que esta viejo.
El edificio en que vivimos tiene un despacho que es la recepción pero, como somos un camping pequeño y solemos estar más en el restaurante y allí directamente muchas veces realizamos el checking o incluso se lo realizamos muchas veces en la parcela donde les acompañamos.

Muchas gracias pero quería aclarar este tipo de comentarios que no se a que debían.

Bell tent (four person)

Liked Los dueños son bastante atentos y la cabaña está limpia y con todo lo necesario (en la descripción avisaba de que no había nevera, pero tuvieron el detalle de dejarnos una de camping, que con una bolsita de hielos apaña bastante).
Teníamos mesa y dos sillas para fuera y una especie de sillón dentro, así como un burro para poder organizar nuestras cosas.
También se agradece que haya varios enchufes para poder cargar todo lo necesario

Disliked Contábamos con que hubiera bar en el camping, pero no estaba abierto. No fue un problema, ya que el camping está cerca de gasolinera y del pueblo, con algunos restaurantes que están bastante bien

Liked Lovely rural location - very quiet - pitch generous with good power. This site has great snd unrealised potential. Went for a nice bike ride form the site. The fuel station nearest the site is a self serve Repsol truckers site and the cheapest we have found on our trip

Disliked We were the only customers on the site. The facilities were clean and adequate but lacked any hot water. Site lighting solar powered so on a rainy day went out early so black as for the trip to the toilet. Two sets of locked gates were reassuring until we wanted to leave in the morning and had to phone the owners to let us out. The welcoming committee on our arrival were very interesting! Think Pitch Up need to review whether this site is to their standard. No WiFi but just about get 5G. The staff could only communicate in Spanish.

Disliked Detoured for 4hrs in 38c heat including single track road to finally arrived at a site that was closed, gates locked with no sign of any staff and no one staying there despite peak season and accepting our booking and prepayment. Looked derelict, maybe it was good once. Avoid.

From the manager: Buenas tardes no se donde irían pero si estamos abiertos. Ya que abrimos todo el año además de tener un restaurante que nos visitan de toda la provincia. Por la noche entre la 01:00 y las 07:30 cerramos la puerta por seguridad y dejamos un teléfono para que las personas puedan entrar y salir durante esas horas y les abrimos si quieren salir de noche acualquier sitio.

Pero lo que no admitimos son llegadas a esas horas para no molestar al resto de usuarios en las horas de descanso.

Si estuvieron aquí de dia y no vieron a nadie ayer, cosa que me parece extraño ya que ayer fue un día con muchos usuarios en piscina y la piscina se ve desde la entrada. Podían llamar a los teléfonos que tenemos puesto en la primera puerta del Camping que funcionan 24horas al día.

Local attractions

Spend the day on the hiking routes of Cabañeros National Park (40 minutes’ drive), leading through forest to waterfalls tumbling down rugged cliffs. On your way, stop by the Molino de Agua Brezoso (an hour) to see an ancient water mill at work, or sidetrack to the visitor centre at Torre de Abraham Reservoir (45 minutes) to fish for carp. Closer to home, walkers can head for the circular Tabla de la Yedra route (45 minutes’ walk) which leads up to the magnificent ruins of hilltop Castillo de Miraflores for views across the plains of Castilla-La Mancha. Other gentler walks for families with young kids lead along the banks of the Bullaque river (where you can look out for otters) or into the local village of Piedrabuena (an hour and a quarter). The village itself has much going for it for anyone that's into their food: there are artisan cheese shops and bakeries to pick up picnic bits in, as well as cosy tapas bars with local ham on the menu and restaurants serving dishes of paella.
