No matter what your holiday style – exploring every inch of the Algarve coast or switching off under the southern Portuguese sun – HolaCamp Albufeira has got you covered. Set in peaceful grounds 10 minutes’ drive from Albufeira’s sandy beaches, the site has large, flat pitches partially shaded by pine trees; just the spot for a laidback getaway for you all (and any pets of course). Each pitch has an electric hook-up, water supply, waste-disposal point and access to spotless modern bathrooms as well as a launderette. Once you’re settled in among the greenery, you can explore all the amenities: namely a playground and a swimming pool with views over the surrounding countryside, a bar-restaurant with a terrace overlooking the pool, and a supermarket for stocking up on essentials like wine or sun lotion. Staying on site, you can look forward to lazy afternoons in the shade, drifting to the pool for a refreshing dip and meandering over to the restaurant for an evening on the terrace. If you’d rather be out all day discovering new beaches and gorgeous Algarve seaside towns, you have lots to see within half an hour’s drive.

Liked Immaculate facilities, campground is always clean and tidy. Pool is lovely. Very close (walking / cycling distance to old town). Was an easy cycle along cycle paths into the old town (10 mins).

Disliked Check in staff are not overly friendly and the ticket system in reception is ‘trying’. Staff chose the easy fixes meaning I waited 15 mins and was the only person left and my ticket still wasn’t called. It’s silly to be honest.

No allocated pitches means it’s luck of the draw. We were lucky, arrived when another motorhome was pulling out from a spot. I think they could really make this place really organised and more traveller friendly with allocated pitches.

Liked Großzügige und saubere sanitäre Anlagen, Personal freundlich. Einlasskontrollen, genug Ver- und Entsorgungsstationen.

Disliked Komplett chaotischer Platz weil es keine festen Parzellen gibt, jeder stellt sich kreuz und quer, teilweise wird man zugeparkt. Grillen und offenes Feuer ist erlaubt und wird auch rege genutzt. Insbesondere bei der Hitze recht riskant. Sehr laut.

Disliked Solo hay una persona atendiendo la entrada/salida de los clientes, el teléfono y la tienda, creo que perdemos mucho tiempo en la recepción por este motivo

Disliked No todas las parcelas tienen acceso fácil a los postes de la luz.
En la parcela que estuvimos, se oía muchísimo en ruido de la carretera.

Liked Fab location - 15 minute cycle to the beach. Great pool, supermarket. Lots of shower blocks with plenty of hot wayer

Liked Los baños están bastante bien. La piscina también. En la zona de acampada hay bastantes zonas con sombra.

Disliked No me gusta que sea acampada libre, preferiría que estuvieran acotadas las parcelas.

Disliked De camping was heel slordig. Er waren geen genummerd plaatsen en alles stond kriskras door elkaar. Je mocht zelf een plaats zoeken, en ja hoor het was echt zoeken om een plaats te vinden voor een mobilhome.
Er stonden kleine tenten op grote plaatsen waardoor er geen voldoende plaats was voor een mobilhomes.
Enorm druk aan het zwembad.
Soms leek de camping op een drukke weg, voortdurend auto’s die heen en weer reden.
En dan de vele rook en aanmaakgeur van de barbeques.

Local attractions

A few minutes’ drive from HolaCamp Albufeira are some of the Algarve’s most stunning sandy beaches, including Praia da Coelha (15 minutes’ drive), São Rafael (10 minutes) and Arrifes (also 10 minutes, with extraordinary rock formations just offshore). Thanks to gentle currents and waves, the coastline is safe for family swimming or snorkelling, paddleboarding and kayaking, or you can just chill in the sun. Popular family days out include boat cruises from Albufeira Marina (10 minutes) to look out for dolphins and whales in the deep Mediterranean waters offshore; trips also leave from there to the extraordinary Benagil Cave, a cathedral-like sea cave formed of multi-coloured layers of rock with a vast hole in its roof. Local hiking and cycling routes wind through pine forests and traditional villages like Silves (20 minutes), overlooked by its huge castle. If you’re looking for action-packed things to do with the kids, a day on the waterslides at Zoomarine Algarve (10 minutes) will wear them out nicely.
