Pitch up in Portugal among trees, but be close to the sand, surf and sea of local beaches? Any sensible sort should want some of that, at any time. Parque Orbitur Vagueira is in a pretty prime Portuguese location, just two kilometres from the sandy beaches of Vagueira and Areão, a short walk to Ría de Costa Nova, a kilometre from Vagueira and within a 15-minute drive of Vagos, Aveiro and Ílhavo. It's set in a wood and has a big sports ground on which to tackle tennis, football or basketball, free wifi in public areas, outdoor bowling, table tennis and a restaurant.

  • Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
  • Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Great spot, peaceful & green with friendly staff. Pool & kids' stuff are a hit. Clean amenities, good WiFi, handy for bikes to Aveiro & beaches. Mostly brilliant, though a few found it dated, noisy, or with limited facilities. Some found power points far & a bit of traffic noise.

Liked Mucho espacio. Muchas tomas de corriente. Limpieza general buena. Las piscinas estaban muy bien. La animacion para pequeños me gusto. Camping tranquilo.

Disliked Por ponerle algo diria que en el supermercado hubiera mas cosas.

Liked Poder elegir la ubicación de nuestra tienda entre mucho espacio.

Disliked La zona de tiendas estaba llena de arena de playa y era difícil poner las estacas de la tienda de campaña. Los servicios para niños no estaban vigilados por los padres ni por monitores. Quise leer un cuento ela mi hija en la zona de la biblioteca y habian cinco niños tirando los juguetes de bebé y los libros por todas partes.

Liked No me gusto nada, el peor que he estado con diferencia. Personal de recepción antipático, muy sucio todo y abandonado de instalaciones, dejadez absoluta.

Disliked El pequeño supermercado descuidado con poco abastecimiento y todo las instalaciones de sanitarios viejas y sucios .los lavaderos viejos y sucios, no pasaba nadie a limpiar. Nos fuimos por no aguantar más. Falta de iluminación nocturna. Un camping enorme abandonado para sacar dinero sin ninguna responsabilidad.

Liked Me gustó por su ubicacion,a 15 min de aveiro a una hora de oporto.Tambien, me gusto como se portaron y nos cambiaron la parcela que nos habia reservado por otra que tenia mas sombra y no nos pusieron pega alguna.Camping con instalaciones de tennis, ping pong y baloncesto que era gratis y estaban libres la mayoria del tiempo y mucho rato a la sombra.

Disliked No me gusto el supermercado, la cola del super y la de ka recepcion era la misma, con que teniamos que esperar 20 min cada vez que queriamos compra una barra de pan.

Liked The lagoon and ease of cycling along a boarded path to Prada da Nova.
Liked the beach and boardwalk along the sea front.
Clean facilities at campsite. Good cafe and bar. Excellent laundry facilities. Good WiFi.
Was able to get bus into Aveiro. But had to taxi back.

Disliked Very noisy on Saturday night, disco went on till almost midnight.
On Monday night, children were screaming and laughing and out playing till nearly midnight. Where were the parents.

As you'll see, Parque Orbitur Vagueira is in a pretty prime Portuguese location: have town or city days out in between days surfing or bodyboarding of Vagueira and Areão beaches, or just wander around the local countryside making it your mission to munch from as many Portuguese menus as poss. If you're an angler, go and learn more about your craft via the Xávega fishing technique of Islamic origins where a large net is thrown into the sea from small fishing boats and then dragged to shore by people or tractors; head to Sesimbra, the Meco area and the beach of Vagueira to see more. Also recommended in the region is the 17th-century Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Penha, patron saint of the nearby town of Grândola in the Setúbal District.
