It’ll only take you a few minutes to walk or pedal your bike to the splendid Bedafse Bergen nature reserve to walk, cycle or ride horses through the woods and dunes. Bikes can be hired on site if your car was too crammed to cart yours along. De Maashorst nature reserve, the Groene Woud and Kraaijenbergse Plassen are other nearby areas worth exploring if you fancy more walking/biking options. Cultured types will do well out of days spent in s-Hertogenbosch’s museum quarter, at Heeswijk Castle or pottering around the art and folklore collections at Eindhoven Museum – all are within a half-hour drive. Family-friendly days out in the area include the Brabant Nature Museum, Dierenrijk zoo and Efteling theme park. De Pier guests can also pick up free passes to Hullie play park, a 10-minute trot from the site, for hours of fun at the indoor and outdoor play areas, including laser games and adventure golf.
