  • Family-friendly site with direct access to a 600-metre sandy beach
  • A 10-minute drive from Peschici for trips to the Tremiti Islands
  • Mini market and barbecues on site; restaurants a short walk away
Beach, eat, sleep… and repeat. If this sounds like a wholly acceptable way to spend a day or few (si, grazie) you’ll likely be most happy with hols at Campeggio Baia San Nicola, a Puglia seafront site two kilometres from Peschici. There’s direct access to several hundred metres of soft sand from the site, with beach volleyball, windsurfing and shallow swimming water for folks who fancy a bit of beach activity, and a swathe of loungers and umbrellas for those who lean more towards inactivity. Such easy access means guests can amble back and forth on a whim, retreating into the shade of the Mediterranean pines for a siesta or making a beeline for the snack bar when hunger strikes. This nifty location is also mighty handy for those with restless/forgetful family members. Forgotten a vital bit of beach kit? Bambini decided they’re ready for a bit of playground time, or to join one of the kids’ club activities? All just a short stroll away, as are the site’s range of useful facilities, including hot showers, currency exchange and shuttle services to Peschici. And so to those eats… prep your own by picking up bits at the well-equipped mini market and creating flames at the barbecue area, or take a short trot to one of the restaurants or pizzerias along the seafront.

What customers say

Shady pitches under mature pine trees offer a peaceful seaside spot, with a top-notch beach restaurant. Guests loved the super clean, though a bit old-fashioned, amenities & the exceptionally friendly, helpful staff. While the scenery's great, some found the Wi-Fi & phone signal patchy, access tricky, & local shops few. Beach area has sun loungers for hire.

Liked Absolutely everything! Wow, what can I say!? Mimo and the team at this campsite are truly wonderful people! Always making sure we were ok and happy from the moment we arrived! Gave us a tour of the site he understandably is very proud of to let us choose our pitch. Let us know about the daily delivery of fresh croissants and fruit and veg, where all the amenities were etc. One day Mimo organised a taxi to take us into town and bring us back and accommodated us for an extra night (because we were so in love with the place!) without any question!

Toilets, showers, washing and rinsing areas were constantly being cleaned so no fear of a dirty shower or toilet.

They keep the private beach so safe for guests; giving announcements if the sea is too dangerous to swim in, immaculately clean and beautiful ALL the time - even after a night where the beach was completely flooded from the storm and high tide - the following morning everything was perfect again! Most definitely the nicest, cleanest peaceful beach along that stretch of beaches!

The incredible restaurant on the beach serves delicious fresh food by friendly tentative staff and the atmosphere is just so lovely. Always felt welcome. Lots of effort made with decoration making it so magical and relaxing! The live music we had one night at the restaurant was just fantastic, all the staff joined in and created a really happy and fun buzz! A night we will always remember!

There a lovely black cat there that spent the last 2 days with us, very loving and friendly and liked snuggles on our laps - we named her Bella as she was so beautiful! There were tears from my daughter when we had to leave her today.

All in all we had the most wonderful week, we were so so sad to leave but 100 % we will be returning as soon as we can!! Thank
you Mimo and your unique team for giving us the most perfect week as part of our 3 week trip around Italy!! 🥰 Until next time, Ciao and ciao Bella!!

Disliked The fact that we had to leave. 😢

Power optional forest floor caravan site

Liked This was the most incredible campsite with the beach just 20 metres away. We stayed for 3 nights just before they were closing for winter so was very quiet, the beach was amazing. Showers were powerful and mixer taps so could change temperature of water perfect for my children as they prefer it ok the cooler side. they have a bar and restaurant on the beach but these were closed as the season there was over so we walked a short walk along the coastal path to a beautiful fish restaurant which the owner recommended which was fantastic. Everything was super clean toliets, outside washing up area, kids play area. The owners were fantastic, so friendly, polite and couldn't do enough to make sure your stay was perfect. I would 1000% recommend staying here. Thank you to lina and mimo for the most incredible stay ❤️ The Censi Family

Liked Near the beach.
Toilets and showers very good, although could do with refurbishment in due course.
Small bar area.
No fixed sites - set up in open areas.

Disliked WiFi only free inside the bar. Costs €5.00 per day per device for cover in the camping!
Limited bars and restaurants in the immediate area.
Campsite is fairly scruffy and would be helped if all the broken old sun-loungers and carpets that are dotted around were removed. No loo roll but that seems to be common in Italy.
Shop sells bare essentials, no fresh food.

Local attractions

Be brave and drag yourself away from the beach now and then, for this part of Puglia is packed with fab days out. For starters, the kind site owners lay on a shuttle bus to make it easy to get along to Peschici (10 minutes' drive), to amble through the whitewashed walled town or board a boat to the gorgeous Tremiti Islands for hikes, scuba diving or trips into the sea caves. Head inland if you fancy stretching your legs a little more – Peschici is on the edge of the Gargano National Park for days of walking, cycling or horse riding on scenic trails (plenty of them still having a sea view if you can’t bear to lose sight of the big blue). The unusual Umbra Forest (35 minutes’ drive) and the cave church at the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo (an hour and 20 minutes) are some of the top stops around the park. And if you really can’t face parting from the shoreline, you could always just take an outing to a different beach for the day – Cala Lunga, Zaiana and Manaccora beaches are all around a 15-minute drive away for a change of sandy scenery.
